Hey Gabe, whats up? Glad to hear things are going good there. I tried to find the Lion in the House, went thru every single channel and couldnt find my PBS station here, it wasnt even on the channel pbs.org said.. so i never saw it yet. So sorry, Sprite who runs Smile Quilts has been out of commission for a while, so the site has been in limbo for months. Unsure whats going to happen with it, but we are thinking of you and wishing you all the best.

Hip hop, hippety hop
My “Easter Bunny” went off to the shop,
He bought me an egg and lots of chocs
And packed them into a cardboard box.
Then he wrapped it with paper and shiny string
It really was such a pretty thing.
Disaster struck when I opened the door-
He slid across the parquet floor,
He went round the corner and past the stairs
And finished up in a pile of chairs.
Of the Easter goodies not a trace,
he’d thrown them into my fireplace!
So a warning before you go opening doors
Make sure your “Bunny” has non-slip paws!

Well, too bad we aren't closer, 'cause Gramma Boo had the same symptoms and sickness and was down in bed for eight days, we could have snuggled and been miserable together! Finally got back to work the past Monday and am just barely feeling close to normal...still tired and still coughing (I figured it was bronchitis). HI! Thank you for signing our guestbook! The snow man picture was Jason's last "in-patient" MTX chemo. We say that was the side effect of the MTX.(lol) Soory to hear Gabriel is having a hard time with meds! The toast story was very cute! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Not that your wishing for a girl, but please god send her a little girl :) :) we can always ask. he he There just adorable. When I was pregnant with my daughter, (she will be 2 in Sep.) I was hoping for a boy because my son at the time was 4 so I though how neat a little brother for him. I was so disappointed when I had my ultrasound and saw it was going to be a girl, but oh my when I had her I just fell in love with her, girls are just so cute..... with there little pigtail and there cute dresses and just so different from boys there more rough, well I'm making this so long, what I really want to say I thank my luck stars every day for her and thank god he didn't give me a boy like I was asking. Eithere way if you have a boy or a girl I'm sure it will be a blessing. Good luck and God bless you and your whole familiy.

Hey Gabe, how are you doing? I hope you all are enjoying your summer!!! Did I ever tell you we found some bunnies in our backyard recently. Actually, our dog did - the kids were in the pool and she was barking like crazy under the pool deck. Finally when we checked there was a bunny nest with a baby bunny in it. Then after more looking through it we found 2 more. So since I have 3 kids and there was 3 bunnies, they each named one. We left lettuce and water and carrots out there but it was never touched so we dont think the mom came back. About 2 days later we took them in to feed them and we had them a week, feeding them kitten milk from a kitten bottle or dropper. They were SO cute! They called them Jean, Robin and Nibbles. My son Gooch called his Jean, named after Jean Smart in XMen. They opened their eyes while we had them and by the end of the week we had them they were running all over, more running than hopping. My husband was convinced they were going to grow up and bite our fingers off, so we turned them over to a Childrens Museum that is a wildlife rehab center near us. I hope they are being taken care of, if they werent already released. I know the kids loved them and they really were cute!! That was our thrill for the summer – hope you are enjoying yours!

OK, Angie...another month has gone by and even tho no news is good news...this gramma still wants to hear about things so,...new? How did the guys like Easter this year...did Gabe get to do any egg hunting? Oh how well I remember those days! Auntie Kimi did one of those tricks in the car when she was 3--(the car was her dad Dave's new pride and joy--a special Firebird trans-am!) on highway one just outside of Carmel (because Dave was racing around all those curves!) I turned around just in time to catch a lot of it in my hands! Then Dave had the NERVE to yell at me! So there we were in the VERY Snooty gas station (they made us pull around to the side of the building to clean the car so no one would see or smell us!...)trying to air out the car, clean up a crying kid and me; with Dave pretending he didn't know what was going on! Oh the memories! Anyway...hope all is well now and eventually Gabe will forget the experience (you can remind him of it at the same time you show his girlfriend the nude baby pictures!) Hope all is going good for you guys...I know Papa talked to everyone the other day (he never lets me talk!) I sent a small package to the boys...you can decide who gets what?! There are 2 vcr tapes, a box of sidewalk chalk and some easter candy! Love to you all! Have a blessed Easter...Love ya! Boo and Papa

Well, its soo great to see our little guy is looking and feeling so good! I know that makes Mom and Dad happy...it sure does us on this side of the world! We had a nice Thanksgiving, went to friends...sure wish it could have been with family! We miss you all so much! One of us needs to win the lottery so we can come and go anytime we want to! How is Seth doing with his studies? What level is he at now? I need to know so if we buy books and things that we don't get too old or young. 'Course if what we already have purchased are too young you can pass on to Gabe and if too old, Seth will grow into them! Anyway, we have several things for the boys for Christmas already and will be sending along soon. We found this really neat thing for Gabe and at first glance you may think they are too young for him, but, guaranteed...after a while Gabe will be fighting to play with his own toy because Dad and big bro will be playing with it! I know the time off chemo stinks, Ron was in the ER too last month and ended up with an AGC of 95 and off chemo almost 3 weeks. I am glad he is home though and his counts are on the rise. Scooby Doo was a good movie, but I must have seen Spiderman 10 times in one weekend so far!

Hi everyone, Boo here! Sure glad things are going so well for everyone and so happy that you are able to leave the 4 walls of home for someplace other than the clinic/hospital. I'm sure that as outgoing as Gabe is that it won't be long before he gets used to seeing and then accepting kids his own age. I'm glad you'll be able to get Seth more involved with other kids, too...I know he loves his little bro but it will be good for him to interact with his own peers too! Way to go! Hello we stopped by to say hi. Maintence is wonderful. We loved manitience. We shall get there again hopefully soon. So are you enjoying the summer. We are enjoying swimming last summer Karlee-Ann had a hickman and sence she relapsed we had them put in a port so she would have it easier. We are in the hospital right now getting blood and platletts and her anc is only 74! boo hoo. I got your website from Gooch's page and I thought that I would drop a line to say Hi!

My family and I are not dealing with what you and most of the families here on Caringbridge are going through. We were in a car accident, and as a result, my son who was 5 at the time, was paralyzed from the waist down. This is a permanent injury, but we too will fight hard and prove those Drs. all wrong...we are tough and that is just the way it is!!!

Yea for our side! Glad the package got there on time...and really glad Gabe liked the bear and Seth the books! I have such a great time at garage sales! I can shop for the condos and grandkids and not feel guilty! I can't believe our big guy is 9 either! Just last week he was Gabe's age, wasn't he? I've said it before...I really miss you all and wish so much that we could be closer so we could see you more often! Just need to win the lottery! Oh well...just cause we can't figure out God's plan doesn't mean its not for the best! Anyway...Gabe...keep on keepin on buddy...get those counts up so the good doctors can poke you some more! and erasers, and pencils, and other toys she can get too
She drives me nuts
We are running on very low counts too here -
Ron's is only 216, so hopefully both of our boys will be doing MUCH better at next bloodwork!

Well, another good report! I am always anxious on Saturdays to read what happened during the past week; I know they are almost always great reports, but it still relieving to see it in print! Good job Gabe! And, good job Mom! Papa was looking at toys and things for the kids and I had to keep reminding him that you would be the one to listen to the endlessly talking toys and/or pick up the thousands of pieces of Lincoln Logs or Tinker Toys or whatever clever device he had picked out to send! We have been going back & forth to pediatrian & onc for MONTHS now
with this cough that I keep panicking thinking will end up pneumonia but his lungs are clear each time.
Onc. thinks it is allergies.
Ped. says its very unusual to develop allergies while on the chemo... but I keep telling him it comes & go...
and what you said is the clincher its the steroids!
Thats why its keeps coming and going! AGHAGHAGHAGHAGAH!!!!!

Well, I wrote a long note this morning and then lost it before I could send it so now I can respond even better because our little guy is home, yea! What good news! I know you and Steve are relieved and feel much better now that you have him safe in YOUR care. HI Gabe & fam.,
Try not to worry too much much,
I was panicking when Ron had a fever last August and was in hospital for a week..
we ended up stopping all chemo for a full month...
I was not a happy camper at that prospect.
Ironic to thank I dreaded (to put it mildly) his needing chemo,
and now any deviation from the chemo protocol panics me.
But Gabe will be fine, try not to worry too much about it.
