Hello, to all! This is Elliott's Mom, Jill. It has been so long since I have been on here, I have forgotten passwords and such, and my email has changed too. I am not able to change things to correct info.
Elliott is growing and doing well. He is in middle school and looks nothing like the skinny little boy he used to be.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Chili’s Grill & Bar® announced the kick-off of their fifth annual Create-A-Pepper to Fight Childhood Cancer campaign. - Purchase Create-A-Pepper T-shirts that can be customized with permanent marker.

- Buy a customized Create-A-Pepper key that can be cut for use at home or the office.

- Eat at Chili’s on Monday, Sept. 29, when Chili’s will donate 100 percent of profits from participating restaurant sales to St. Jude.

Hello. My name is Sheila MacPherson and my daughter, Shiri, has just been diagnosed with Wilms. Stage five, favourable histology. She will be three in two weeks. I enjoyed reading your journal and find that it is so helpful to read what other parents and children have endured in this journey that is so sudden and so painful. I hope your son is continuing to do well. Good luck!

Hi Elliott and family. Wow you sure have been thru a lot already. Its such a shame, and I hate coming across new Caringbridge sites, as it just means another kid going thru something no kid should ever have to deal with. My son has leukemia (ALL) so I kind of know the toll it takes on the whole family emotionally, financially and spiritually. Its also very hard on any siblings too, they don’t understand why its all happening (and how do we explain when we don’t understand ourselves!) Well, I hope your parents consider letting your site be added to our Adopt a Kid’s Site, it brings more visitors and more thoughts & prayers. Just click on the link below and let us know if you are interested!

Hello Elliot and Family
Our 5yo daughter was diagnosed Jan25, 2003 with stage II favorable Wilms. We are fairly new with treatment and all that goes with it. Your last entry was so warm and reassuring to parents like myself in the midst of all the treatments. It was neat to find out that your son likes gymnastics and dance--my daughter does also. Also, I have been in MOPs for 8 years (this is my last year,) and I know how much it has changed me and how our MOPs community has rallied around us during this stressful time. I am so happy to hear that Elliot is doing well, that gives me the hope that one day we too can be able to say we are in remission and doing well. God's Blessings to you and your family for sharing your story and reaching out to others like us. My daughters webpage is: www.caringbridge.org/wi/kate . We'll be praying for cancerfree checkups for you Elliot!

I was just reading through your page and was really touched by the story. I am 14 years old and i was diagnosed with Wilms tumor when i was 3. It then came back in my lungs later. Now I am doing fine! When I look back on the whole thing all I can remember is the good things, like racing through the halls or squirting my doctors with water guns! Now that I'm older and starting to deal with the side affects of the treatment I have been researching the tumor and cancer in general. I hope to become an oncologist someday! Just remember to look forward to everyday and keep going, life is worth it!

I just read what you wrote in the guestbook. I lost my daughter Brandi Watson in 1995 to Wilms Tumor she had just turned 6yrs. old 13 days earlier. She was in remission for a short time before she relapsed. It always does my heart good when I hear a that a child has beaten Wilms. Keep strong and my prayers will be with you. Your little trooper is handsome.

Hi, I am in the process of writing an article for the Freeport,Il "iNK" about WILMS tumors and in support of an area child who has been diagnosed with a second WILMS and has recently lost his second kidney. My research led to your page. God bless you all. Life is so precious. Hang in there and give your child a big hug from all of us here. I spoke with my subject's mother tonight before they were to return to Madison for radiation and she told me, "If my child can smile through all of this then I can too." My prayers are with you.-Tony

Hello Elliott, Jill, Craig & Nate!
I found Elliott's website while checking on some of our other children and I'm totally enchanted with him! What a cutie (and looks like a pistol too! Ha!). I wanted to tell you two things - one, I will be praying that Elliott continues doing so well. I loved the pictures at DisneyWorld! How wonderful that you all had such a nice time. Secondly, I wanted to tell you that I am a Quilting Angel with Smile Quilts. We are ladies who love to 'stitch' virtual online quilts to bring smiles to the children. They are all customized quilts. I would like to invite you to all come visit our site and look at some of the quilts we have done for other special children (including my own grandson Jacob), and then if you would like, we Angels would LOVE to make Elliott his very own online quilt. Just click on the graphic I'm leaving and it will bring you right to our site. If you ever want one made for Elliott, just let us know (instructions on the site) and we Quilting Angels will start stitching away for him! More importantly, I will be back to check on him and wanted to let you know he and your family are in our prayers.

My niece was diagnosed with the Wilms tumor in November 2001. She underwent 23 weeks of chemotherapy and about 5 radiation treatments. She also had her left kidney removed. Early June 2002, she started showing symptoms like she had with the first tumor. On June 15, 2002, Johns Hopkins found another golf ball size tumor on the right side of her abdomen as well as a spot on her lung. She is now labeled as a stage IV. She will also have a brain scan on July 23rd. Please anyone who reads this, pray for my niece, Kayla!

Jill,

As a mother myself, I can't imagine what it would be like to see your child go through all of this. I am so glad that you put it in the Lord's hands. It is hard to keep the faith in times of heartache or struggle, but you sound solid in your faith. I know that the Lord will carry you and your son through this and I will pray that he heals Elliott. Thank you for your letter that you left on my mailbox. I will definitely send you my donation to help you reach your goal. May God bless you and your family.

My name is Mark Hosaka and I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer during a surgery in Dec. 2001. Before then I was a very fit father of three with a beautiful wife and no medical history. I work as a police officer in the city of Henderson, Nv. I ask myself the question of why did this happen, everyday. The only answer that makes sense is that it is a test of faith. Your faith will get you through the hurdles of life. As a parent there is nothing I fear more than harm to come upon my child. Stay strong, as it sounds like you have been, and he will feed off of your strength. It won't be long before this all will seem as if it was a dream. If you have any questions, any at all, I'm available. I will be starting chemo and radiation in about three weeks. I am also part of this website (www.caringbridge.com/nv/markhosaka). Hi Elliot and family,
My name is Anna and my 22 month old daughter just finished her last round of chemo for Wilms Tumor stage 1. It sounds like Elliot is doing great and he is a beautiful little boy. I hope his last treatment goes well for him. We will pray for him. You have to put it all in God's hands.

Hi, Elliott!

Your mommy told me that she started a site for you, and I am so happy to read that you have ONE treatment left! Way to go on all of your progress! I can't wait to see pictures, too.

Jill - thanks for all of your support. I am so glad that you found Alexis' site, too. All of our kids are amazing, and I feel blessed to be apart of such a network & community of faith.

Hi, Jill, Elliott & Family,
My name is Karen, I'm one of Alexis' aunts. I just read your journal entry and my heart goes out to your family. We will add Elliott to our daily prayers. May your faith in God help you through this.
