Nicholaus Patrick Chase Welcome to Nicholaus' page. It has been provided to keep people updated on the latest events and to give hope after living with the diagnosis of neuroblastoma. Nicholaus was diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma in 1995,n-myc amplified, which is an aggressive solid tumor of the sympathetic nervous system. Nicholaus underwent chemotherapy, radiation, surgery to remove his tumor and his kidney. Due to the fact that after surgery residual tumor remained Nick underwent a bone marrow transplant. Please pray for a cure! About 600 kids are diagnosed with neuroblastoma each year in the U.S. There is no known genetic link. It just happens. NB is an immature nerve cell that develops into a cancer (tumor) rather than a mature nerve cell. Although he has been through many difficult times we want to encourage others in their battle with this disease that it can be won! Nicholaus is currently KICKIN' CANCER !!

Friday, March 29, 2013 8:02 PM CDT Nick was able to complete his scan and came home and went to bed! We talked to the PA this afternoon and preliminary results continue to say this is a benign tumor. We are relieved and thankful this isn't a cancer recurrence but still concerned as to what is going on.Due to this being a holiday weekend we will get no further info at this time. Unfortunately his doctor is not back in the office till Tuesday so we will have to wait to then to learn what the next step is.
