Nick, you are one awesome guy. God has chosen you and set you apart for some amazing things. I know our God is a God of miracles and wonders. Praying the cancer never returns in your body and that this is just a temporary bump in the road. Praying for wisdom and clarity for the doctors. If there is anything we can do please let us know. We'll be keeping you and your family lifted up in prayer that you may have that perfect peace that passes all understanding.

So glad that the doctors still think it's benign! But, still praying for answers, and that you won't have to wait so very long for those answers.

I saw a post on facebook entered by DC last week, but figured it was a public awareness thing about your form of cancer. Today's post made me want to investigate. So, here I am. I will pray for you, Nick, my earnest brother in Christ. I portrayed the role of Peter at prison ministry last night as we re-enacted the Last Supper via the "Is it I" drama. I think that you would have liked it. It MAY take some liberties with scripture, but as a teaching tool to convey the Gospel it was working last night. Godspeed, you Greek-studying theologian, you! Pame ellada. I learned that last week from Kyle Nikitas' mom!!!

Just checking in to say hi! I'm another one of your mom's friends from high school. It's hard to believe you'll be turning 15 soon! (or maybe you already are 15)You and my daughter Lizzy are the same age. It's nice to hear you've had a good year attending school. I continue to keep you in my prayers. I'm a friend of your Mom's from H.S. and have been keeping track of your progress here for the last few years. Sounds like good news and bad news. Good news: you get to go to school every day. Bad news: you get to go to school every day.:-)

Hello Nick,

The apostle Paul said "Wherefore sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me" Paul said this at the height of a terrible storm, while on a ship at sea. All others, aboard the ship, had lost hope in being saved but not Paul. God had spoken otherwise to Paul. Paul believed God rather than adopting the fears of those around him. He knew they would be alright abd believed what God had told him. We are praying you Nick. The bible says in James 5:16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Hang tough, keep your faith strong, and trust in the lord and those around you who love you much.

Hey, our buddy Nick. Mitchell told me you were back in school at least some of the week. He is always glad when you're there, especially riding the bus with him. I admire you because you always keep smiling and never stop trying to get better. Not everyone would be so brave and strong. We appreciate you for it, because it makes our day to see your nice face at our door, at school, out shooting hoops, etc, etc. I'm putting you back on the prayer chain at our church. We'll pray that God will help the doctors figure out what's making you sick and find something that will help so you can get stronger and feel good. We think the world of you and your family. Come see us and please let us know if we can help in any other way. See you!

We hope things are getting better for you. You have always been tough, so hang in there. Hope your New Year brings solutions and better times.Do you still have your turtles? We were at the zoo the other day and watched the keepers weigh one of the desert turtles. They had to scratch his head and rub his neck in order to coax him on the scale. He was loving it. Hi there Nick --
It's Kelly - your photographer from Victory Junction Gang Camp! There are all kinds of folks here in California (friends, family, and Bible study friends) keeping you and your family in prayer. They know about you from the fun we had last January! They've seen some of the 'hair-do's you made on some of the camp counselors - using mouse and dye in The FAB Shop... remember??!! You made me smile then - and you still do each time I see your photos. But our biggest smiles will come when you are feeling lots better! Please have your mom drop us a note when time allows. Until then - please relay a BIG hi to your folks, and Daniel & Kela too. I love you all!

Dear Nick, Suzi and family
The Byrd's sent us a note about Nick and I just wanted to let you know you have another family praying for Nick. My son Nathan (age 14) is also a cancer survivor. He is now 5 yrs cancer free. Yes there are miracles out there. Hang in there mom, the school systems sometimes just don't get it, do they?
We have come to realize that the schools can only and will only do so much. We have decided to do what ever it takes to help Nathan succeed. It can be a pretty lonely path to take. Be strong for Nick and and take it one day at a time. If you get a good homeschool teacher, it may just be the Godsend you need. I hope Nick beats back this latest challenge and is feeling better soon. First things first, get well and the school stuff will work itself out. You are in our prayers.

Hi Nick,
I just couldn't resist writing to a family with the same last name as I had before I married. CHASE is a good name and I'm delighted that you are doing so well. I wonder if we could be related somehow. My nephew, Thomas(7), was just diagnosed with neuroblastoma in Sept. 2002, stage IV and is undergoing his second session of chemo at the Hospital for Sick Kids in Toronto, Ontario Canada. He is being very brave. Like yourself, he loves sailing and his dad allows him to be the captain. He took sailing lessons near our homes on Georgian Bay. Maybe you can look that up on a map. Take care and you will be in my prayers.

Hi Nicholaus, you don't know me but I was reading your guestbook and wanted to wish you the best in your progress with this terrible disease. I have a friend with a child with the same disease and I know how trying it can be at times. I just want you to know that you are a hero to other children and a real trooper for putting up with all that you do. I want you to also know that I will be praying for you and all other children with cancer.
All the best to you and your family, and god bless you all!
