Hello- I came across Adam's page through Katia's page- I was astounded to read our story on your page! Not really, but. . . my 10 year old (now 11) son was diagnosed with AML in May, 2003. We completed a course of chemotherapy over that summer with his broviac coming out in November, 2003 and him in remission since June, 2003. We had a great Christmas, then in February I started to see the bruising and the anemia etc... sure enough- a relapse of- MDS!? which quickly made the jump to AML. Jerm had a BMT on April 15, 2004 with his 5/6 matched sister- sound familiar? We are about 135 days out now, and I loved reading how well things have gone for Adam and your family. It is so funny to read over your journal history about that whole immunosuppressed but has counts so what can he really do or not do thing! Every day we are negotiating and explaining and re-negotiating activities. Well, I've gone on long enough- please come visit us at www.caringbridge.org/id/jtrowe. Thanks for keeping the page updated with all the good news!

Hiya, just saying a hello, I have a few jokes for you today, this time about bears

Q: What do you get if you cross a skunk with a bear?
A: Winnie the Pooh!

Q: Why do bears have fur coats?
A: Because they'd look stupid in anoraks!

Lots of love and big…

Hi Guys,
Hmmm. This is my third try. Dumb Grandma keeps jiggling the mouse! Anyway...as I was saying...I recommended your site to a friend and then noted there wasn't a single entry from Grandma! For shame! Adam and Megz, your Mom is a pretty good writer but she has some pretty awesome subjects. I'm looking forward to that 9th BD party Adam and more installments from your favorite author (you know who!) See ya soon. Hugs, Gram

Hey Adam, hope this finds you doing well! I am sure you are!
Dont talk to me about clothes fetishes mom, Ronnie still refuses to wear underwear, and all the pockets had to be removed and sewed shut in all his sweatpants - its impossible to find sweats without pockest nowadays. He is neurotic about pants, he only wants elastic waist jeans or sweats. But small price to pay to have our boys huh?

This is my first time on your site and I found it through a bmt site. I sat up last night and read your entire journal and cried and laughed, and most importantly I related, my 15 mo. old is on day +142 of transplant and it was so nice reading your story it answered a lot of questions we had on getting normal counts, etc. Thank you for sharing your story. It was very encouraging!

Hi Adam and Megan,
Your Uncle Mark used to work with me here in Maryland, and sometimes he called me "Miss Barb", so I guess you can too.
I am not really a "Miss", but I am a grandmother. Two of my grand daughters are just your ages and they live in Wisconsin. I know how busy they are with school and its good to hear from your website that you are having fun in kindergarten and elementary school too.
My friends and I have been watching all that has been happening with you, and sending some prayers up to Heaven. We are especially thankful that things are so much better for all the Smiths than they were last year about this time. Take care!

Hi Smiths!! We have been following your family with the frequent emails from Connie Claar. I was a swimmer for Tracy a LONG time ago (in 1985)! We are thinking of Sue Claar today - thank you for the reminder - I can't imagine going uphill after 25 miles. Tracy might be amused to know that my sister, Joanne, and I are doing the Danskin Triathlon that is in Naperville (where I live) in July. I did my first training swim today - the municipal pool is finally open. Much water was consumed as I choked my way through the first few lengths. Once I was warmed up it went better. I think my arms are pretty strong from carrying my little boy, Alex, around. So - Joanne and I are still using skills we learned from Tracy!

We think your website is great and send a BIG hello to all of you :)

I'm so happy for all of you, that Adam has progressed so well. He's been on my church prayer list, and mine, for a very long time. God does answer prayer! I've enjoyed reading your newsletters that have come to me by way of Mark, so I've been following Adam's illness for quite awhile. Remember that God has a plan for each of us and nothing happens that He doesn't know about.
