Journal

It was 4 years ago yesterday that Dad passed away. I really am in shock that the time has gone by so fast...but yet I still think about Dad every single day, and our memories are all very fresh in my mind. My husband David and I lit a memorial candle that burns for 7 days for Dad Sunday evening, and then cracked open a beer and BBQ'd outside while toasting to Dad. He is still a part of so many things I do - and I can feel he is here with me sometimes, a GREAT feeling. I really live by the philosophy "Life Is Too Short" now, and enjoy every single day - its really hard to make me mad or stress me out!

Lots of changes have taken place since Jan 2002, Patti and Megan have moved from Phoenix, AZ back to Portage, Michigan where Megan is finishing her last semester of High School - WOW! Megan is an aspiring Veterinarian - she is doing a really cool internship at a local Vet's Office, going to school, and also a hostess at a local Steak House - busy girl!!! Patti is working very hard full time at the new Wal Mart near their home. They still have good ol' Louie the dog, and also hyper as ever Diego, and just recently added POOKIE, an adorable lil girl Jack Russell Terrier pup!

I moved from AZ to Los Angeles 3 years ago when I met my now husband David. We were married April 17th, 2005 and by early May I was pregnant with a little boy! He is due to arrive Feb 15th - only 29 days from now! We are so excited and thrilled...... I would give ANYTHING for Dad to be here to meet our lil guy and be his Grandpa, that part makes me very sad. But I know Dad is watching us, and will be here watching when the lil guy arrives.

I hope everything is going well for everyone. It has been a very long time since I have come to this site... it is still really painful for me. I wonder what is going on with Brain Tumor research/cures these days. I have not kept up on it at all - hopefully they are making progress. David and I have just recently started volunteering at the hospital near our home, Cedars Sinai. We take our Cocker Spaniel FooFooLee there every Friday morning for a few hours to walk through the outpatient Cancer Center - we visit people getting Chemo and ones who are in the waiting room for Radiation - like Dad used to do every day at Barrows in Phoenix AZ. That is our little part in giving back for Dads memory right now.

Happy New Year Everyone - be Happy, be Healthy, and most of all, HAVE FUN!!!!

Love, Sheri
