Cameron Brooks 
May 5, 1997 - February 3, 2006
Welcome to Cameron's Web Page. It has been provided to keep our family and friends updated about Cameron, 8, who was diagnosed with a diffuse pontine glioma (an inoperable and incurable tumor on his brain stem) on Sept. 26, 2004. He completed 33 radiation treatments on November 18 and is currently taking chemotherapy each month for maintenance. He is part of a clinical trial. Since chemotherapy has not been proven to help, we are praying for a miracle.
Cameron is a very happy 3rd grader. He loves cartoons (especially Spongebob Squarepants), legos, Playstation, Gameboy and anything that has to do with skateboarding (except actually skateboarding.) He is very proud to have taken up snowboarding this year. Cameron has one 13 year old sister, Charli. She loves and protects Cameron. He really thinks she is the greatest. (She is pretty awesome!)
Cameron has been super brave throughout this whole ordeal. He never lets anything keep him from finding laughter in the small things. We think he’s got a silly bug planted in him because he is always laughing. We are not sure he really understands the seriousness of his sickness, but we are sure that he doesn’t care. He doesn’t have time to be sick or think about what’s going to happen. He’s happy!
We would love to put a note with a list of people to thank, but there is not enough room. Please know that to everyone that has done anything – even just calling to check on us or adding an encouraging note to the guestbook – we are sincerely grateful and it has made a difference.
Please keep checking in on Cameron and our family. Pray for us continuously. There is no cure now, but God did give us time.

UPDATE - On September 22, 2005 - almost at our 1 year anniversary. Cameron had some problems walking and an MRI showed that he now has two new aggressive tumors in his cerebellum. After quite a bit of research and a lot of prayer, we have decided to start a new therapy which consist of 5 drugs (called a cocktail) that we hope will stop the tumors from growing and maybe shrink them. We will continue to enjoy each day. If at any point we feel that Cameron is uncomfortable or unhappy, we will adjust the plan accordingly. For right now - we still get in a lot of laughs each day and will continue to pray.

Sunday, December 21, 2008 5:56 PM CST Sorry for no updates. I hope that people still check to see how we are doing. We are all fine. The holidays are so so so hard. I want to buy Cameron something so badly. We just had a weekend of snow and I wished so hard that I would wake up and he would be asking could he go out and sled. We miss him!
Charli has been busy working, school and playing indoor lacrosse. We are going to Las Vegas again this year for Christmas. Charli and I are very excited. I really just wanted to be anywhere but here on Christmas morning. I feel like we cheat Charli out of the holiday because I don’t even feel like putting our little tree up. She doesn’t seem to mind. She still seems excited about the holiday (especially the 2 weeks off of school.)
I will pray that the holiday season brings some peace and comfort to those families having a hard time missing loved ones.
