IMPORTANT DATES!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~i have been diagnossed with eosinophilic disease, an autistic spectrum disorder, dysuautonomia, and depression/a personality disorder. here is some more information about each of those. feel free to explore the links in the table below this for more information as well.
eosinophilic disease is caused by an abnormal number of white blood cells called eosinophils in the digestive track and in other organs. it causes alot of food allergies and intolerences. i currently don't eat any of the top 8 food allergens (milk, eggs, soy, wheat, fish, shellfish, peanuts and treenuts), corn, beef or gluten. i may not need to avoid all those foods forever. i also drink an formula called elecare. i had a feeding tube in 2004 but i no longer need it. i was originally diagnossed as only having eosinophils in my colon, but in march, a livber biopsy showed that i now have them in my liver as well. many people go about 2-4 years between onset of symptoms and diagnosis. i was diagnossed at 18 even though i had symptoms since infancy beacuse this disease was unheard of when i was a baby.
the autism spectrum is very wide. no two people with an asd are exactly alike. i fall right on the line between pdd-nos and aspergers syndrome. i also have sensory intergrations disorder, which is very common in people with asd's. i have trouble with loud noises and crowds and i love heavy pressure and heavy blankets. i sleep with a 12 pound weighted blanket.
dysautonomia is a dysfunction of the autonomic nerve system, which controls all the involuntary functions. some of those functions include heart rate, rhythem and function, blood pressure, temperature, digestion, and breathing every case of dysautonomia is different and ranges from mild to debilitating to life-threatening. *a note about the dysautonomia: most people who have dysautonomia have a specific type, such as postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, nuero-cardiogenic syncope, or vaso-vagil syncope. mine doesn't have a name and is just unspecified dysautonomia. i was diagnossed by a rhumatolagist with POTS and later found to not have any specific type by my wonderful cardiologist, dr. duncan. mine is secondary to the eosinophilic disease, which means that when the eos gets worse, so does the dysautonomia*
depression and mental illness effect your thinking, mood, and personal relations, amoung other things. i receive treatment at the institute of living and the olin neurophychiatry research center in hartford, ct. like all mental illnesses, there are no difinative tests and they are diagnossed based on symptoms. one doctor might have different opinions and might say it's something compleatly different and i am just going by what my doctors have told me. |
i also have endometriosis and raynauds, but they don't effect me on a daily basis. the endometriosis used to, but i had surgery to fix it and remove my galbladder on november 19th, 2004 and i get a shot every three months to keep it at bay. the raynauds only effects me when i'm cold. i also have had several abnormal results on bloodwork for liver function and liver problems run in my family so i am followed by a gi doctor for that.
Journal
Tuesday, June 10, 2008 10:17 PM CDT it makes me sad to say that somehow i lost access to my page sometime last fall and someone else gained access to it.
there are some strange entries that i deleted and some really weird guestbook messages that i have to go in and delete.
i'm ok and everything so dont start worrying or anything.
i started a carepage so i could keep making a journal so i'll start updating both of them now.
if you want to get updated on what's been going on, go to carepages.com and the pagename is laurenm04
but i will start updating this page again now that i have access to it again.
if anyone else is having problems with strange entries in their guestbooks or journals you should contact caringbridge.
