Happy New Year Everyone. We had a lovely Christmas. Everyone came here for dinner and presents. We had another get together on Hogmanay. Kayla is keeping well, she had her yearly check up in October and the doctor was really pleased with her. She is growing but will never be a big girl. She walks to school every morning with 2 local boys who are in 2nd year and who we have know from birth. Callum and Ruari get a bus from their home. She walks down with a girl who she knows from primary school and sometimes she phones her grampa to collect her if it's raining really heavily. She comes in for her dinner twice a week and sometimes she'll sit with me and we'll watch a film with Kyle or other times she walks down to her own house. We all went to see John Barrowman in Dick Whittington which was really great, and last weekend we went to see Peter Pan which was fabulous. On Saturday Lesley picked up another girl from Kayla's class and drove them both to East Kilbride where she dropped them off. The first time they've ever been anywhere on their own. The went to the ice skating, then had a wee walk around the shops before going to KFC for something to eat, then Lesley picked them up to bring them home. They had a great time. She went to a night club, which was in the afternoon for youngsters, her aunt Lynsey took her and three friends, Nicholas Mc Donald was singing there, he was on the X Factor and comes from Motherwell which isn't too far from here, he's 17 years old and she is totally in love with him. It's sooo funny. He was really nice to her, and she got her photo taken with him. I told her my first boyfriend was called Klaus which is short for Nicholas (he was Austrian) and that I didn't marry him. lol.
I don't know if anyone reading this remembers a girl called Lakota who we got to know from caringbridge, she had cancer too, well I'm sorry to say that I had an e-mail from her mammy asking for prayers for her as she has been diagnosed with rectal cancer. PLEASE keep them all in your prayers.
Thanks for still checking in on Kayla and for praying for her and all her friends.
