HELP ST. JUDE BY CREATING A PEPPER AT CHILI'S TO FIGHT CHILDHOOD CANCER!!!!

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Chili’s Grill & Bar® announced the kick-off of their fifth annual Create-A-Pepper to Fight Childhood Cancer campaign. Now through September 30, Chili’s restaurants around the country and, for the first time, in Puerto Rico, are marking National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month by inviting people to get creative and raise funds to help St. Jude find cures and save children with cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases.
Guests at participating Chili’s restaurants can contribute to St. Jude in multiple ways:

- Make a donation to St. Jude and receive a Create-A-Pepper chili pepper coloring sheet designed for display at restaurants during the month.

- Purchase Create-A-Pepper T-shirts that can be customized with permanent marker.

- Buy a customized Create-A-Pepper key that can be cut for use at home or the office.

- Eat at Chili’s on Monday, Sept. 29, when Chili’s will donate 100 percent of profits from participating restaurant sales to St. Jude.

Visit www.createapepper.com and to make an online donation.

PASS IT AROUND!!!!

GET YOUR FRIENDS/FAMILY TOGETHER!!! TRUST ME ITS SUCH AN AMAZING CAUSE :)

Hip hop, hippety hop
My “Easter Bunny” went off to the shop,
He bought me an egg and lots of chocs
And packed them into a cardboard box.
Then he wrapped it with paper and shiny string
It really was such a pretty thing.
Disaster struck when I opened the door-
He slid across the parquet floor,
He went round the corner and past the stairs
And finished up in a pile of chairs.
Of the Easter goodies not a trace,
he’d thrown them into my fireplace!
So a warning before you go opening doors
Make sure your “Bunny” has non-slip paws!

Happy Easter

With lots of love,

Everyone at Post Pals

A PRAYER FOR CHRISTMAS

God Give Us eyes this Christmas
To see the Christmas Star.
And give us ears to hear the song
of angels from afar

And, with our eyes and ears attuned
for a message from above,
Let "Christmas Angels" speak to us
of hope and faith and love

Hope to light our pathway
When the way ahead is dark,
Hope to sing through stormy days,
with the sweetness of the lark

Faith to trust in things unseen
and know beyond all seeing
That it is in our Fathers love
We live and have our being

And love to break down barriers
of color, race and creed,
Love to see and understand
and help all those in need.

Lord, bless those we love this Christmas Day,be they near or far away Bless those good friends who mean so much and those with whom we're out of touch. We bring them all to You in prayer, and ask You to keep them in Your care.

Please know that you are thought of, in a very special way, not just this beautiful season but every day.

Emily & Family,

It is wonderful to hear how well you are doing! Jason loved hearing from you on his page. His shoulder surgery was now 2 years and 4 months ago. He too has pretty much recovered 100%. We are so thankful that our two angels are still here to bless us! I love the pictures of Emily cutting her nurses hair, that was just priceless!

Hi Emily,

So glad to read the good news about your tests! You look like you are having a blast in your swimming pool. There is always ONE picture like that that haunts us when we grow up. Mom or Dad will probably bring it out when you bring your boyfriend home for the first time. Praying that things continue to go well for you guys, I know they will! Take care!

Hey Emily, how are you doing? I hope you all are enjoying your summer!!! I am thrilled to hear your great news!!!!!! Did I ever tell you we found some bunnies in our backyard recently. Actually, our dog did - the kids were in the pool and she was barking like crazy under the pool deck. Finally when we checked there was a bunny nest with a baby bunny in it. Then after more looking through it we found 2 more. So since I have 3 kids and there was 3 bunnies, they each named one. We left lettuce and water and carrots out there but it was never touched so we dont think the mom came back. About 2 days later we took them in to feed them and we had them a week, feeding them kitten milk from a kitten bottle or dropper. They were SO cute! They called them Jean, Robin and Nibbles. My son Gooch called his Jean, named after Jean Smart in XMen. They opened their eyes while we had them and by the end of the week we had them they were running all over, more running than hopping. My husband was convinced they were going to grow up and bite our fingers off, so we turned them over to a Childrens Museum that is a wildlife rehab center near us. I hope they are being taken care of, if they werent already released. I know the kids loved them and they really were cute!! That was our thrill for the summer – hope you are enjoying yours!

I went to look at a new horse for the school program. Her name is Murphy and she is a very big horse. We will bring her home in about two weeks. Well best wishes, my prayers are with you daily. Jeanette.

Hi Melissa,
Haven't checked in for a while, but Emily and the family is on my prayer list and I have been thanking God for Emily's healing and for strength and comfort for the family. I have moved to my daughters house, but am still in Centralia. I am thrilled to hear that Emily is done with Chemo and the tubies are out!! After the cold winter that Michigan has had, the warm sun will be AWESOME. Be sure to take the sunscreen. The air purif is your's, with my blessings. Email me sometime. Much love and prayers for all of you.

We wish for you...
Comfort on difficult days,
Rainbows to follow the clouds,
Laughter to kiss your lips,
Sunsets to warm your heart
Gentle hugs when spirits sag,
Friendships to brighten your being,
Beauty for your eyes to see,
Confidence for when you doubt,
Faith so that you can believe,
Courage to know yourself,
Patience to accept the truth,
And love to complete your life.
God Bless you!
I asked the Lord to bless you
To guide you and protect you
As you go along your way....
His love is always with you
His promises are true
No matter what the tribulation
You know He will see us through
So when the road you're traveling on
Seems difficult at best
Give your problems to the Lord
And God will do the rest.

Emily and Family

We all rejoice in this good news. Praise God for the great things he has done. The Bible tells us to trust God, rather than our own understanding of what's best for us:

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:5-6)

We should continually pray for the great work being done by the Doctors and Nurses at the Bronson Children’s Hospital. Bless all the children who are treated there.

I know you will continue to acknowledge and trust the Lord in all things.

Warmest regards,

Grandpa Henderson
:-)

Congratulations on the near completion of chemo! When my dd had her last dose I broke down in the hospital and cried and cried and cried. I cried out of sadness for all that she'd been through and then I cried out of elation for the future that having all of the cancer treatment had promised her. I hope that Emily's future will always remain as bright as it does right now and in years to come you can look back on all you've been through without the pain and sadness which I know you feel now.
Here's to the end of chemo!

Hi! This is Luke Ervin's mom Ivy> your Mom visite my son Luke's page a while ago and filled me in on your similiar battle. You look sooo beautiful (both of you) in your Christmas dresses! I just want you to know you have a FRIEND here for any of you who love Emily. My year has been torture seeing my child suffer through treatment to no avail. Praise God though, since ending treatment early, Luke's tumor has not grown in 5 months and he is playing like any silly 2 yr old should. So if you also need anything, please email me. The pain is overwhelming at times, and no one truly understands your heartache like another parent who has had to hear those same words "Your child has cancer"... my heart will forever be torn.. We will pray for Emily and all of you too...In Christian Love

Melissa & Jerrod,
So glad Emily is doing well. (She is being healed, you know.) Your sense of humor is great to see. Love your quips. "Dorothy" seems to be a popular figure this year. It's so much better than witches or goblins. My granddaughter has picked that figure too. Her mom hid the costume and shoes. Have moved to WA finally. Am job hunting. Got updated on the journals. You all have gone through so much, but I can see your strength and love. God Bless you. My prayers are with you all. Love, Mary Lou

Dear Emily and Family,
Each teasured and valued by God,
His most precious loved posessions!

My name is Earle Robinson and I learned of your needs from Heather. (I was Heather's Youth Minister when she attended the 20th St. Church of Christ) I see Emily's name printed each week in the church's bulletin. And each time I see her name I pray for her and for the family. I know this is an incredible time for all of you. I know of some of the pain you all live with. For 5 years I was a chaplian at a Children's Hospital in the Upper Midwest. I worked very closely with the families and patients along with the Child Life Specialist. The horrible disease of cancer is one of the most frightening battles we humans have faced in the 21st century. But as in any trial it brings out areas of life...strengths in our personalities and characters that otherwise lie dormant. This trial allows so many the opportunity to minister to Em and you all. I'm sure you have both seen and felt the power of God from his people and servants.

Emily, My prayer for you is that you will feel the love of God as wake each day...that whether you are sick or are feeling good that day you will feel loved by God...He adores you. I pray you will feel loved and protected by your folks. They love you almost as much as God does!!! And I pray that you will feel loved by all the doctors and nurses and medical staff.

For the Family...I pray that you too will feel the love of God and remember that all His servants...as they bow before the Father-King's Mighty Throne they bring little Emily's needs to Him and they gently but firmly beg the Father-King's mercy for her. He hears and answers their requests. I pray that you never lose hope and are strengthened and encouraged by every success, no matter how small.

Bless you all.

Earle

Haven't signed in on my last couple visits. Still keeeping you all in my prayers. I know the radiation burns are scary but I felt that sunburns resulted in more pain. I would continue to be diligent about keeping it treated to avoid infection but at least for me it wasn't painful, I hope it is the same for Emily. I look forward to seeing more pictures of the girls, I remember when Amber & Robin were little watching them together and the joy we felt. Enjoy it, "Tomorrow" they will be all grown up.

Hi, I found your site through ped-onc site. I am a bereaved mom who lost her beautiful 2 year old daughter, Jordyn, to Acute Myeloid Leukemia 2 years ago. Jordyn fought for 14 months.
I pray that Emily is able to beat this cancer and live to be 80-90 years old. That she will be able to say, "I survived cancer and have made history." Not near enough get to say that....
God Bless your family. I will be back to visit and pray for Emily.

Emily, Alyssa, Jarrod & Melissa,
When Jarrod told me last week about your website I felt very happy to have a way to see how Emily is doing, and a way to let you know we are here for you. I have been praying for all of you ever since I heard what you are going through. No one can possibly understand how difficult of a time this is for all of you. I am happy to hear you speak of God, and I am sure our prayers are being heard. As you go through this difficult time remember there are people out here who are anxious to help. Having gone through a rather difficult time myself recently I know how difficult it can be to ask for help. But I also know that this help can be part of Gods answer to our prayers. We are out here for you, please let me know if there is anything I or my family can do to help, in addition to our prayers which we include you in daily. God Bless & God speed to you all.

Emmy,
I'm so glad to hear you're doing so well. You're a very brave girl and we all miss you here in Crivitz. I can't wait until you're well enough to come visit us here. Our new house will hopefully be done by Thanksgiving. We go out every night to our land to see what new parts of our house have been added. It's like opening a little stocking stuffer each day waiting for Santa to bring the big present. Taylor and Ethan are getting bigger every day and can't wait for the chance to play with you again. Kyle is a little under the weather today because he had his tonsils removed yesterday, but he's ok. God Bless You Sweetie!

We are friends of Kevin and Dawn's, in Colo. She told me about Emily. I know a young lady close to home here and she has had the same cancer, she has had 4 surgeries with it since she was little. Now she is 19 or 20, and just had part of here colarbone removed, and is back to riding her horse in the rodeos 4 weeks later. She is an inspiration to me as Emily and her family will be too. I will keep you in my prayers. Those that have to deal with such trials seem to have such a neat outlook on life. To bad not everyone can have to same advantage, to know how to appreciate life.
God Bless You.

Dear Emily, I'm glad I came to the clinic just at the right time to see you and Mommy! I saw lots of my friends that day and I am always so happy to play with everybody and chat with the Mommies and Daddies and sisters and brothers. Thanks for spending some special time just with me lately. It was great to escape with you to go outside for awhile one day - your toes were so cute getting a little fresh air ! Then you and Alyssa went through your very own toys, picked some to share with us for the hospital playroom and delivered them to us!! It was a riot going down to your car with you and seeing you having fun riding on your IV pole !!! Thank you so much, girls, for being so special to share your toys with other kids who come to the hospital. You are the greatest!!!!! You must be feeling kinda scared about your surgery coming up. Tell your Mommy and Daddy I will be thinking of you all day and praying that God will guide Dr. Downing's hands as well as the special bone surgeon who will be helping him. You are very special to me and I always have fun playing with you ! Next week after your surgery while you are in the hospital it is Child Life Week. We have lots of special visitors coming!! Lets see there will be Tony the Tiger, Snap, Crackle & Pop and Ernie the Keebler Elf. Then storytellers and Ronald McDonald with a Magic Show. We will have a Kid's be a Doctor for a Day and Animal Day when lots of dogs will be visiting us.Then there is Carnival Day with funny hats to make and clowns to see everybody- they are so wonderful!!These clowns are extra special because they all love Jesus!! The last day of the week is Crazy Sock day where everybody can wear silly socks and also make a sock puppet. It will be a fun week, and I hope you will get to play with us while you get better after your surgery. And remember if Mom & Dad need to take a shower or a little break for fresh air or food or anything.....I will love to come stay with you for as long as you want. You are a special little angel and I am so glad I know you and your family!!!Love and Hugs from Rockie .

Hi Emily and family. I happened upon your website today. My daughter had Rhabdo too at age 3, and is now 5 1/2 years old and 13 months into remission! Soon will be the day when this will be all over and you will be a happy, healthy little girl again! Praying this goes as smoothly for you as it did for our family.

Hey guys. I finally checked out the website. It's wonderful! Emily will enjoy reading it someday and it will hopefully show her how compassionate and loving people can be. She brings a tear to my eye and a smile to face everytime I look at her or even think of her. She's a wonderful little girl and she makes me appreciate life even more. I will always have a gumball waiting for her! Jarrod, Melissa, Alyssa...hang in there! Emily, continue to be strong and keep that adorable smile big and bright. Rog and I will always be here for you and praying for all of you. It's the little things in life that are the best things in life. Enjoy and cherish every one. :)

Dearest Emily, You are truly an angel. Daddy and I decided that it would be a good idea if we both signed your guestbook, so when you get older you can read it. We are so proud of how brave you have been through all of this. You are such a big girl! I want you to know that Daddy and I would go through this a million times if we knew that it meant you didn't have to. You are a strong little girl and when this is over, we will be able to look back and see how it made us all stronger individually and as a family. I love you sweetie!
