Dear Friends in Christ
Greetings to you in the most wonderful name of our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ. His richest blessings shall be upon you forever.
I am Pastor P. Ruth Jaiseel Babu Bapatla, India, writing to you in His precious name. I am residing at Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh State in South India.
It is really a great privilege but God has given to share something with you about my ministry for your kind co-operation. I take the promise from Mathew7.7 and approach you for your kind consideration for our ministry. I may be knocking at your door at an odd time, but with the promise that it will be fulfilled. We are a team of youngsters with a great zeal and enthusiasm to extend the kingdom of god in India . We have no affiliation with any organization and we have no any kind of support from anywhere. The resources we have in our ministry are very limited and many times they are beyond the reach of our basic needs. Our aim is to visit every nook and corners of Indian villages and promote the Gospel to every perishing soul. We really hope to see a great deal of harvest in the coming days. In this regard we earnestly wish for your leadership and guidance. Our ministry is mainly based on Gospel work in rural, tribal and slum areas. We visit a number of villages in a month to proclaim the Gospel. India is a country of Idolatry and superstitions. Indians have 9million of Gods and Jesus Christ is considered to be a foreign god. So what we want to prove is that Jesus is the savior of the world. In this regard we need your encouragement in anyway. Christianity in India is considered to be the religion of lowest community. Christians have no honor in the society. They are not allowed to live together with the people of High community. They are considered to be untouchables. So they live in their huts at the outskirts of villages. They work as laborers in the fields for the landlords. They really depend on their potluck. It is because of their poverty and illiteracy. We are regular victims of nature calamities such as cyclones, floods and fire accidents, which take away every year a number of lives and make their children orphans. At such times we bring some of the orphans to us on look after them by collecting money from our local people. But many times the money collected in that way is beyond the reach of their basic needs. At present we are looking after 15 orphan children. When we found them they were in a very pathetic condition. They continually cried for their lost parents. Some midnight's many of them got up and cried bitterly for their lost mother and father. It was beyond our level to console them they are gradually getting accustomed to our love and care. We have to provide them clothes and coverings. Feed them twice a day. Send them to school and buy their educational material and pay their medical bills. Now a day's prices shave gone up so high that a common man cannot reach them. In such a condition we are not able to feed them and meet their needs properly. If we forsake them to their fate their precious lives will be ruined. In this regard we approach you for your kind charity and generosity to wipe out the continuous stream of tears on their tender cheeks and fill their little bellies with a little food. If you could kindly find a sponsor to support them every month we will be ever grateful to you. Please have compassion for them. In a very needy condition we look on to u for your kind involvement. As we have shared with the orphan children about this letter to you they have already started to pray that our Heavenly Father may bring you their way. We have our co-workers in different villages. We all work together for the extension of the kingdom of God . All our co-workers are very poor. They have no proper shelter and no permanent church buildings. We gather in Verandahs and in corners of the streets at nights. They have their families to hunger and uncared and go for Gospel work. Many days in a month they face foodlessness. Our ministry really consists of starvation, anxieties, rebellions, mockeries etc., but we are persistent in the Gospel work to save the perishing souls. If there is a monthly support for our co-workers they will look after their families and go into the ministry effectively. We wholeheartedly invite you to India . Please come once to encourage us in our ministry. Every year we conduct seminars, Crusades and conventions. Would you be a main speaker in one of our conventions? If you kindly write me your convenient date we will arrange meetings. We really need your interference to bless us in our ministry. Our co-workers are regularly very burdening fully praying to God to send any mighty man or woman like you to support them with a monthly help. We really believe that God will show you our agonies and groaning. We have a Christian library in which we have different books for spiritual growth. People from different places visit our library. Some borrow the books and some spend their time in the library to read the books. We pay rent to the library room. We are in need of concerned material. Could you please send us some library material as much as you can or could you kindly recommend us to every one who can support us in this way Please commit yourself to co-operate with us and encourage us in the way you can as Lord enables you. We have no other channel except you. We entirely depend on your kind involvement. We very hopefully and prayerfully await your kind and favorable letter. All our workers, church people, library staff members, and orphan children are sending their heartily greetings to you and your family. I am waiting for your reply wholeheartedly. I am expecting soon reply in this regard.
Thanking you in His precious name.
In His Love, Sincerely,
in His Saving Grace,

Hi Jonathon-
My name is Jade and my mom and I found your website. I am 9 years old and also have ALL. I am in the maintenance phase and will be done December 1, 2005. I go to St. Paul Children's Hospital-and I like getting spinal taps--the "dizzy medicine"-propophyl-makes me feel happy. My mom or dad say a secret word right before I fall asleep and I try to remember it when I wake up. Try it, it might work for you too. My website is caringbridge.org/wi/jaderobinson. Take care & God bless you

Hi,
Nice to see another update. Congratulations on another run, Melissa, and especially in rain and cold. I would love to see you do all these things that I can barely do in everyday life!!! :-) Don't know if I can even ride a bike anymore.
So, you got the kitten for awhile. Kirsten brought home another little one that is so sweet and loves people and is just adorable, black again though. If I could get it to you all it would be such a nice kitten for the kids. It follows you like a dog. Do you want it???? Please????? It's a male.
Much love to you all.

I found this poem on another web page, thought I would share it with you.

WHY US

Most women become a mother by accident, some by choice, a few by habit.
Did you ever wonder how mother of children with cancer are chosen?
Somehow, I visualize God hovering over the earth selecting his instruments for propagtion with great care and deliberation. As He observes, He instructs his angels to make notes in a giant ledger...
"Armstrong, Beth, son, patron saint Matthew"
"Forest,Marjorie, daugher, patron saint Cecilia"
"Rutledge, Carrie, twins, patron saint Gerard. He's used to profanity"
Finally, he passes a name to an angel and says, "Give her a child with cancer."
The angel is curious. "Why this one God? Shes's so happy."
"Exactly, similed God. "Could I give a child with cancer a mother who does not know laughter? That would be cruel."
"But does she have patience?" asks the angel.
"I don't want her to have too much patience or she will drown in a sea of self pity and despair. Once the shock and resentment wears off, she will handle it."
"I watched her today," said God. "She has that feeling of self-independence that is so rare and necessary in a mother. You see, the child I'm going give to her has its own world. She has to make it live in her world and that's not going to be easy."
"But Lord, I don't think she even believes in you," said the angel.
"No matter. I can fix that. This one is perfect, she has just enough selfishness."
The angel gasps, "Selfishness? Is that a virtue?"
God nods. "If she can't seperate herself from the child occasionally, she'll never survive.
Yes, here is a woman I will bless with a child less than perfect. She doesn't realize it yet, but she is to be envied. She will never take anything her child does for granted. She will never consider a step ordinary."
"I will permit her to see clearly the things I see...ignorance, cruelty, prejudice...and allow her to rise above them."
"And what about her patron saint?" asks the angel, his pen poised in mid-air.
God smiles and says "A mirror will suffice."

Hi Missy - just talked to your mother and she told me to check out your website which I hadn't seen in quite awhile - The pictures are great and really enjoyed them all - Was sorry to hear about Jonathan's recent illness but thankful he is better and that the medication will eliminate any chance of getting it again - hope you are able to figure out how to get Jonathan to swallow the pills! I am so very proud of all you have accomplished in the past year and especially excited for you about your triatholon successes and the opportunity for others to contribute to such a worthy cause through all your hard work!! I am also very excited about your decision to go back to college and pursue a degree in ESL and the potential for so much more to develop from that degree - I admire your strength and courage and perserverence in all that your family has faced in the past two years and support you in all your future endeavors!! Your mother told me about your next running/biking session coming up on May 23rd and we plan to be there to support you for such a worthy cause for Jonathan and all the many others that are facing similar illnesses. We are thankful for Jonathan's total remission and pray for his friends that are going through very difficult times with their illnesses and that they too will see some positive results soon. Hello Melissa,

I'm am so sorry you've had sicknesses floating in and out of your house. I have never in my life heard of anyone in this present day getting Scarlet Fever. I read your entries and I don't know how you find time to do all that you are doing. It wears me out just thinking about it. I think I'm one of those people who needs lots of down time--which of course I do not get. But God did not intend for me to rest on the couch.

I miss our lunches. Thank you for mentioning Gabbie on one of your Christmas journals.

God bless,

Hi Melissa, Jonathan and family! I have to tell you how touching I think the photo on the front page is ... of your aunt who passed away from leukemia so many years ago. It reminds me to stop and be grateful for the fact our children, while still fighting the same horrible disease, can do so with hope and optimism and great chance for a cure.

Best of luck on your training --- what an admirable job you are doing!! Hope your weekend is going well, best wishes,

Hi Melissa,

I am sure that Noah Jay's death has hit your family hard. I think you had developed a friendship with his family. I am sure it is also hard on Jonathan.

The Lord works in ways we simply will never understand in this life. I know tha Noah Jay's family has a long road ahead of them but God does carry us.

Somehow we will have to get together...maybe after the holidays.

Congratulations on finishing the Triathalon! I've never done one of those.

I just wanted to let you know that I 'care' about all of you. I know it is hard for you all. I heard a quote from a Gaither video that said "If God had made mountains smooth how would we have gotten to the top". I doubt that I quoted it word for word but that's the idea. It's the hard times and how we respond that make us become who God wants us to be, similar to the egg. Jonathan, I'm glad you're enjoying this summer and that you can do so much more this year. We love you all.

Hi Melissa:
Believe me, you have lots of company in constant worry about more cancer. Just recently I was noticing how big my 15 month old Lydia's tummy is and said something to someone about how I sure hope it's not a tumor! It's so ridiculous (especially in other people's eyes) but when it's already happened to your family once you realize how vulnerable we all are and anything seems possible. One thing that has helped me is to acknowledge my thoughts as legitimate (for me!) and then to try to let them go and move on. I sure hope you got a picture of Flopsy! That sounds too cute! God bless,

I found your page from searching eBay, while looking for woodworking books. I saw on one of the journal entries where Jonathan was 'hammering and sawing' on a woodworking bench (I think at school, maybe), and thought how great it was he enjoys such a hobby. As a kid, I remember turning things on a small lathe when I was not much older than he is.
As an adult, I work with the Ride For Kids group here in Georgia, because I had a niece who died of a brain tumor when she was in her early teens. My best to the family, and my sincerest hope is that Jonathan beats this disease, as I have seen many kids beat a similar one.
Thank you for the pictures and journal entries. It looks like Jonathan has a very loving family, and is indeed a very lucky young man for that.

Hi Melissa:
I just wanted to extend a special invitation to you to attend our service of thanksgiving next week on Thursday, May 8th at 7pm in Maple Grove. Details can be found on jackson's web site (address below.) We will be lighting a candle for Johnathan as well as all the children we know who are battling or have battled cancer. I am very sorry to hear that things are so crummy right now for your little guy. You are right, there is no getting around the grief and pain, we simply must go through it. But we can go through it armed with God's strength, hope, love and peace and it makes it much more bearable somehow. Love and hugs,

Hello Lindsey family--
I came across you all on EBAY--as I have made several purchases from you recently. I am overwhelmed with God's love for his children. My own family is going through this awful cancer--My 61 yr old Mother is in the hospital now. I understand the MANY unexpected trips to the hospital--as she has been in CCu, then ICU and now a rehab room. I will pray for your family-- as you know--when one person in the family is ill--the whole family is experiencing the illness. Jonathan--I pray for you and your brothers and sisters-for they will also be forever changed by this cancer. God gives us renewed strength through all the prayers he hears. Your family is OUR family as we all are bound through Christ together. Jonathan--you will have a special journey in life--God has touched many people's lives just through your illness. Many people around the world will forever be changed just because they have been touched by your illness. You have probably brought more people closer to God than you will ever know---his plan for you is already in action. Trust in the Lord--and you and your family will continue to be blessed. As I have found out recently---we all have more strength and prayers in us than we ever imagined possible. My family ( husband Mike & 3 girls and 1 son)will continue to place you and your family in our prayers. Just imagine--you have now changed our lives too!!!! :-)Many blessings! **Kelly (ebay: bosoleil)

Dear Melissa and Family,

We still think of you alot, and pray for Jonathan daily. We are doing good, two weeks ago, Len had chest pains, and went to the ER, spent two night, had a heart catherization, was transferred by ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, to have angioplasty and a stent inserted, in a main artery that was 95% blocked. PTL, all went well, and today the cardiologist gave him a good report, he has no limitations. He is only 56, but has a family history of heart disease, he could eat nothing but broccoli, and probably have diseased arteries. So we are learning to live with a new thing, plus he is retiring from the Post Office on May 2. He will not be returning to work, so we are in a new chapter in our lives, which is exciting. We are planning another trip to Mexico with CEFC (7th one)in July.

We now have 4 grandchildren. Tricia and Brad have the 2 boys, Andrew now 6 1/2, and Justin 3 1/2, and a little girl, Katelyn Joy born last Oct. 25. Are we enjoying her! And our son Dan and Karen have a little boy, Benjamin, who is a year old today. So what fun we are having.

I am still working part-time at the same job, will be 5 years next week.

May you and your family enjoy this precious holiday season, as we celebrate Jesus's death and resurrection. We have a Good Friday service tomorrow at church.

We send you our love, and we want you to know we still pray for you daily, and will continue. We might be far apart, but we are not in prayer.

Hello Jonathan! I still remember you in prayer each day...just remember...Jesus made you and He sure knows how to "fix" you...after all, He IS the great physician! I love the verses in the Bible that talk about how important even the little sparrows are to Him! I am a pilot and one of the most interesting sights I have ever seen is when flying very close to a big cloud and you look at your shadow on the side of the cloud. The shadow of the airplane is completely circled by a round rainbow! Reminds me how Jesus' love completely surrounds me! There is NO safer place! Take care, my little friend!

This is Chemo Angel Mary.
I was so glad to get the address to your web site!
I never knew you had this, so I always just checked in with Chemo Angels once a month to see how you were doing.
And I was so very glad to get to see a picture of you and your swwet brothers and sister. You sure are cuties!
For some reason, my computer won't display the two pictures on the main page but I bet they're cute too.
Always know that you and your family are in my prayers!
We serve a good and BIG God and He is well able to take care of us. We don't have all the answers but we can rest in the arms of the One who does!
Blessings,

Congratulations!
Maintenance is so much easier than that first year altho we ended up in the hospital a few times with fevers (colds, really bad colds) because their white counts are still so weak that it doesn't take much to bring them down.

BUT it is a LOT better and you actually start to feel "normal". CONGRATULATIONS again.

Well we would still love to meet you and Johnathan. Maybe sometime after next Monday when his counts should start going back up. He's doing good so far and still has energy. Hello Melissa, I buy airplane books from you on eBay and was looking at what you have for sale when I noticed your note about Jonathan.

My wife and I and our three kids all love Jesus and KNOW how wonderfully He answers prayer! For the past several months we have been monitoring a young couple we know in the Toronto, Ontario area. Their six month old son Kyle was born with a defective heart and the only way for him to live was a heart transplant. They waited on the Lord for months and three weeks ago Kyle took a turn for the worse. At the same time, a donor was found in a distant Canadian city. The heart was flown to Toronto Sick Kids Hospital by private jet...in the meantime Kyle who had recently been allowed to go home 30 miles north of Toronto for a few days was having a heart attack! They rushed him by air ambulance in a race against time. The heart arrived at the hospital minutes before Kyle, but baby Kyle's little heart stopped as they were unloading him off the helicopter! They got the heart going again and did the transplant and now he is expected to recover. God answers prayer!!!

Sadly, another baby had to die to give Kyle his life! But Jesus knows all about that!!! He died to save MY life! So we will pray for little Jonathan that the Lord will show His mercy and incredible love to you and give you strength and peace through this incredible test of your faith. Thanks for sharing Jonathan's story and may He heal Jonathan according to His gracious will!

Our prayers are for your family. When Noah was first diagnosed with Leaukemia we were told there was another boy in the St CLoud area with Leukemia. I was not unitl Melissa hit our website di d I know who. I am so soory that yo have to endure this dreadful disease. I was reading you entry on the 18th about how people have told youto be glad about Jonathan having ALL. You are right there is nothing to be glad about this cancer. We have been told some really ridiculous things, people mean well but just do not know how to respond. Unfortunately we know what each family is feeling. We know the uncertainity of each day and sometimes each hour may bring. But we know one thing, that God is in control. And for some unknown reason He has allowed our children to be hit with this awful cancer. We know God is not the author of this disease. We pray God's peace upon your household and Jonathan. What days do you guys go to Children's for treatment? it would be great to get our boys together. May God richly bless you during these trying days. There is also another boy in our area who has Leukemia. Drew is a young boy with AML. His page is drewrichter.

Jonathan,

Hi! Merry Christmas from Kazakstan! Sounds like we missed your birthday. Hope it was a good one.

We just bought a Christmas tree today. It's our first one here.

We were amazed to see how big you, your brothers and sister are. Time flies! Our daughter is just a few weeks older than your sister and our son will be 11 months old tomorrow.

You come to our mind often and we remember you then.

Love,

Jonathan, you've got a million dollar smile! We loved your pictures, you're all a bunch of cuties, and thanks for sharing them :) You're all in our prayers, and remember that just because we haven't met in person, that doesn't mean we can't care about you...from the looks of your guestbook alone, you have a LOT of people on your side who care for all of you and wish you the very best. I read somewhere in ancient teachings that if you are visited by many people with well wishes this can remove or take away half of your illness. However you must beleive in this, every day by looking above you will come to understand the Psalm which states where our help comes from. Our wishes to you is to get well and have a speedy recovery.

Melissa,

Jonathan has a real look of intensity in his pictures. He looks like a real fighter and I am sure that with great medical care and the prayers of family and friends he will come through this making all he touches proud. I have a hard time believing the person that I have been doing business with so promptly and professionally with has the increased workload and difficulties that you have. God Bless You! Better days are coming. My daughter 5 years ago was diagnosed with a blood disorder called ITP, but for about a week they weren't positive that it wasn't luekemia. I have felt that anguish. My daughter continues to be treated at The Ireland Cancer Center at University Hospitals in Cleveland. She is now 21 but continues to be treated in the Rainbow Babies & Childrens area's. For the longest time I didn't understand why until one day a young patient came over and asked if she was all better now. She was becoming the goal for some of these kids, Big, Stong,(my daughter is an athlete)and healthy looking. It became apparent that spirit within these children is maybe the #1 medicine. Good Luck. God Bless. You are all in our prayers for strength.

What beautiful pictures! We will be praying for Jonathan and his treatments, may they go well and give the results needed. We just worked a booth at a local fair last weekend where the proceeds went to our friends whose children have the fanconi anemia. Alex, their daughter, was on the same medication that Jonathan will be on. We are finding out so many young children have these blood diseases, it is so sad. We know the Lord is taking care of them. We will be praying. Love, The Zides

Hi Melissa
I'm SO glad that Jonathan is eager for school. It is the BEST medicine for being "normal" for these kids. All the other kids go to school and he is doing something they are all doing. I told the school that Davis can stay as long as his temperature doesn't go over 100. You know they can run a low grade very easily. When it is in the 90's, I have him either have the teacher or the nurse take his temp hourly. That way no surprises if it spikes. It was kind of a pain, but allowed Davis to go to school since schools will not keep kids in with a temp of any kind. After explaining to them that chemo kids can run fevers without being sick, they were really cool with it. I even supplied my own thermometer for them!

The rollercoaster is a bummer. You are doing a great job and handling it very well. I pray for your continued strength and positive outlook. Good Bless you

How are you liking school, Jonathan? I know taking pills isn't fun, but once you get good at it like your mom and dad are you will think it is so easy. I accidently brought home some swallow pills for Mariah this year, so she had to take them. She screamed really loud for the first three days when I told her it was time to take them. Finally she tried it without a drink of water, and said that was much easier. Have fun in school! We love you. Tell your brothers and sister " Hi" for us.

I just was bidding on one of your books and clicked to go to view other books and found out about Jonathan. We are praying for the Lord to bless and keep your whole family. When I was little, grandma would say that she would rather be sick then see us babies sick. Being a mother, we all feel that way. God gives us no more than we can bear! Hang in there, the blessings are coming your way! There is power in prayer!

Hi Jonathan and Family,
I was on e-bay and noticed your website. We recently went thru the fear that my 16yr. old had leukemia. As it turns out she doesn't. She has Epstein-Barr and they think some other bleeding problem which she is being tested for this week. We were very relieved. After reading your site I realize how fortunate we are. Life is odd, you wonder why things happen to people and why. Please know that with faith, hope and prayers, everything will be okay. You'll be in my prayers everyday. May God Bless you and keep you in His care. Although you don't know me, I send you all my love.

It is interesting for me to read what Jonathon says about how the drugs make him feel since Jackson could not express that to us and I'm sure much of it is similar. Hi
I read your journal and was wondering if you knew that chemo can effect the long nerves of the body? (legs and arms first) Davis doesn't have any reflexes at all in both the arms and legs. You can also get "dropsy" foot, but we haven't experienced that. Davis is a LOT slower, especially when he is on chemo but he really picks up speed between sessions. Just remember - very few of the chemo side effects are long lasting. This is a very short period of time to save our sons life. It is sad watching them sometimes and my heart goes out to you. Davis was probably the most athletic child you'd ever see, and to see him loose that at age 12 is hard. He had to pitch a ball game last week and they had to pull him because he could barely get the ball over the plate - he is on the ara-c phase of chemo right now. BUT I know it too shall pass....

Good Morning Brit, Melissa, Jonathan, Caleb, Andrew, and Rachel; We praise the Lord that you have an occasional Normal Day. We uphold you in prayer and visit your web site on a regular basis. Happy Father's Day Brit! We look to the Lord to give you each the strength and mental attitude to cope with the enormity of the situation. We love you all and are in our thoughts through out each day. Every day when I do the wash, mow the lawn, weed the garden, go to the grocery store, make the beds, run the sweeper, hug the boys-I wonder how that is being done at your house and if there is anything I can do. So glad to hear the news of continued remission! Praise the Lord!

Dear Melissa and Family,
We pray for you and your family each day. It was been a while since we were able to connect to this service. What a blessing this service is, to family and friends. We know that you are learning to live as we all should, one day at a time. We pray the Lord gives each of you the strength to face each new day. Steve had a sermon today on Phil. 4:4, Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again: Rejoice. God commands us to rejoice in the bad times, as well as the good times. As I read over the guestbook, I saw just that. How can I rejoice? It is so much more honoring to God, during the darkest moments of our lives, rejoicing during hard times. He gave the example of Curtis Hoke who is always praising God and never complains. Start small in rejoicing, and remember all is "in the Lord". We pray for encouragement for you all each day, and only the peace that the Lord can give. We love you all, give the children a hug for us, just love that bathtub picture (Rachel is beautiful-first time seeing a picture of her,) and the little guys are growing so fastly. We are getting ready for another trip to Mexico, and again are taking Zack Saint, who battle leukemia at a young age, and is now free of it. We pray for that same kind of blessing on Jonathan.
Our love and prayers are with you.

Hi Melissa
Davis also got mouth sores but we put him on acyclovir (I probably spelled it wrong) and "magic mouthwash" and it was truly magic. They can eat and talk with it. The meds helped heal the sores. SO even tho you don't want them, they are not so bad with the proper meds. Davis spiked a fever the first time but not this round. I think the nice weather has a lot to do with that. He is also in this phase and is getting the ARA-C next week alto we are 1 whole phase ahead of you, we can keep you posted. I still think the worst part is the decadron (steroids). Enjoy the extra time off - enjoy the new peach fuzz on his head! Take care - Mary Lee

Melissa
I remember a few years ago, my husband worked a lot in the summer and played softball out of town too. To make a long story short, I was a single parent all summer long. I remember having to take 3 kids to the ball park for games at the same time, I hadn't gone to the bathroom, brushed my teeth or combed my hair that day. I got a speeding ticket on a road that changed from 45 to 30 without warning too.

I was so overwhelmed and sat at a stop light ready to have a nervous breakdown. Then a great thought came across my mind....this is NOT my time...it is my childrens time. One day I will be alone more and have more time for myself. At that time my hair will be perfect, my teeth will be whiter and I will have an empty bladder when ever I feel like it! After I resigned myself to that and chose my new life motto of "simplify, simplify, simplify" a great peace came over me. My house is messy, I've gotten rid of a lot of clutter - I sell off most of the boys toys and "stuff" every year (or donate), I don't collect things anymore and we are a LOT happier....and I don't care what others think about it. Hope this helps....smiles....Mary Lee

Hello there! I have no idea who you are, but I am so deeply moved and am in tears as I type this. I was searching for a gardening book on eBay when I stumbled across yours, then followed a link you had and saw, "Jonathan". Curious, I clicked on it. But the real reason I went this far is because I had a strange...I don't know what to call it. All I can say, is please start thanking God for a miracle. Before Jonathan, there was another child that I KNEW SOMEHOW that I was appointed to pray for. I had never seen this child but only heard of him, and knew only his name (did not know race, or home situation) and so I would ask for healing every night, and so would my husband and my children, at the dinner table for this child. I also would pray for him at church, at my mother's house, at work (had co-workers to pray also) and would ask others to pray as well. I only asked too that God please at least let me know of his healing. This very morning, I read that he now appears to be doing quite well and will return in a month to the doctor for a recheck. (An entertainment center had fallen on his head at a few days of age and broke his cranium, caused severe brain damage and paralysis)I praised and glorified God for this miracle and thanked him for letting me be even distantly involved. Then, putting that aside, I was searching for this book and found Jonathan. Now I have added this child to my prayers. I will do the same for him. And I believe God led me here for this reason.
God bless you all, and keep strong in your faith. God is not limited in any way.

It can hit so fast and it keeps you always watching and waiting! I feel for you and am sorry you have to be at the hospital. We will be at short stay tomorrow for platelets at about 6:30 pm. Hi
I'm so glad you get to go on interim maintenance. The first time we got to go on it we took a trip and altho Davis was tired he was just happy to not have to go to the hospital. Enjoy this time because with every round of chemo they respond quicker and seem to get sicker a little easier. Even tho they do, they are kids and rebound quickly. With chemo in the summer, you should avoid all the nasty virus's that we endured in Dec/Jan. We are now in our final round of chemo before maintenance. So far so good. He is tolerating it well. Being able to go outside helps tremendously.

I can't imagine having to travel to the hospital for all the treatments. I'm glad you have an alternative. We live in Burnsville and that takes a half hour. Have you done a Make-A-Wish? It was the best thing we did for Davis. He took a shopping spree at the Mall of America. Even tho Leukemia is curable, they qualify. I was hoping for a trip to Hawaii, but Davis had other plans. There is also chemo angel website - they send gifts and cards to anyone under chemo. They are www.chemoangel.com. Take Care

Hi, all. We met you at NPO in 1999, and Bernie was the one who asked if you had prayed specifically for twins. :) Just wanted you to know that more of His big family were lifting you up. May His grace and strength be sufficient for all your needs during this trying time. Thanks for including the pictures of all four; my, how they've grown. What a heritage you have to pass down to all four!

Thanks for including us on your Web site and asking for prayers for us! It made me cry. We will never know why some of us have such painful journeys. But it is wonderful to meet other Christian families who share the same faith. We will pray for you also!

Dear Melissa and family - I stumbled onto your touching story while on E-Bay. It gave me chills to read about your Jonathan, as we were in the same predicament 29 years ago with a 2 year old little boy with a brain tumor. Medicine has advanced so much over the years, and there is a lot of success with childhood leukemia now. Please don't lose the faith. God will bless you all and make you strong. It's amazing how reading your story brings it back so vividly, although it's never far from the surface. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.

Dear Jonathan and family,

I came across your webpage while shopping on Ebay. As a survivor of lymphoma (7 years) I can understand what you are going through. I want to encourage you that the Lord is so faithful even when times seem the hardest. My family and I will be praying for your recovery. Jeremiah 29:11 is one of my favorite verses that encouraged me when I was so sick. It reads, "For I know the plans I have for you declares the LORD. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future". The LORD bless you and keep you and make His face shine upon you my friend!

In Christ,
