My Ronnie (just turned 5) has been battling a lingering cough for a while not, but his counts are good so we are home (its "just a virus!")
He has ALL too and is in LT maintenance now.
And he LOVES Scooby also!!!!
We will be praying for you to be fine again soon.

I am so glad that you had a wonderful trip. Did you put your star on the ceiling of the castle??? When we were down there, the ceiling was getting pretty full!!! Deana...BOY!!!! Do I understand your feelings!!! After all this...you just don't seem to fit in anywhere anymore, huh?! Well, I have learned that my "strange" feelings are okay and usually pretty "normal" too. All of us parents who have gone through this seem to say very similar things and I think we understand, so you are not as different as you think! Please know that I think of you and Mikie often and I am thrilled to see how well he is doing!!!

Hi,
My son, Daniel, was diagnosed 3 weeks ago (July 17, 2001) with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He is doing very well so far. It was very nice to read your journal. I have been trying to find a book or something that would give me a realistic idea of what to expect. I'm glad Mikie is doing so well. Daniel, also, hates the oral medicine. Holding him down every time is bad enough, but then I don't even know if he's getting it all. We keep hoping this will get better. Thank you again, and God Bless You all.

I just finished reading all your journal entries from start to finish - what a generous thing to do - it helps me understand what my friend is going through with her 13 year old daughter and I'm sure other families in your situation can benefit from the information. I'm sure there have been times when you've been down and out with taking care of Mikie and your other family members that the last thing you had time or energy to do was write a daily entry - yet you did. What a loving gesture to your son. I emailed you earlier today regarding my friends 13 year old daughter that was questioning GOD on "Why Me"? - I want to thank you for getting back to me so quickly - now that I have read all that you have going on on a daily basis, it's amazing you still find time to respond so quickly to help others. What a brave young boy you are. I have a 12 yr old daughter who I can barely get to swallow a pill - yet you handle all that has come you're way pretty great for a 4 yr old. Hello,I read your day of diagnosis and the same with me .My son, Roy at that time was 8 now thank God he is 9 ,has ALL also low risk 8/21/00 the day our lives change . The only bad thing of this is that his father and I are divorced ,but try to be friends for him and his brothers sake ,Peter he's 3. I know exactly what you feel ,needing to be there for your son and then realizing missing your other children . All I know is that we are not the only ones in the world that are going thru this horrible time . There other families who don't even get to hear their childs voice due to their illness. We should feel fortunate that we do and that they can say what hurts them, and just take it day by day . I'm very happy that he's gonna go to Disneyworld . Roy wants to go to Scotland ! Believe this, we'll see.Praying and speaking to God is the way we as parents can and do find peace . Speaking with other moms and dads help me a-lot, too. One thing never keep anything inside talk to your husband and talking to your son helps you both, Roy and I have a very open relationship anything he feels he says. We are here in Houston,Texas at M.D.Anderson Cancer Hospital this to me is the safest place for my son to be when he feels bad . He loves it here he goes to school here,also the clinic is here, has a-lot of friends from all types of races and the people here love him back . Keep hope talk to your son or have someone help you in asking how he feels of what is going on because kids are always smarter than an adult and can tolerate much more pain than we can . Keep GOD in mind and in your heart ......I'll pray for your family, for your babies,and for you to have peace of mind....

Many years ago I learned that every day has wonderful things in it. I know you are discovering new joys and wonders every day. I was very ill when I was a child, in the hospital a lot, had surgury and was in constant pain.
But I always found something to be thankful for. I wasn't suppose to live, but I fooled the doctors and did. Miracles do happen. I pray that a miracle will happen for you, too.

Hi Mikie ! I'll talk to your mom later but, I just read through what she wrote in your journal... You've been taking a lot of the same medicines that my daughter used to take too . . . I know they make you feel crappy and sometimes it hurts, but nobody ever wants to cause you any ouchies... My little girl finished 2 years of medicines in March of '99 and now she's in first grade and doing great ! Plow thru it pal... You can do it. Like Hans Solo said in "Star Wars"...

I read about Michael on the Hugs Club site for sick children and had to visit this site to get to know more about him. I was drawn to him, not only because he has leukaemia like my son did, but they also share the same birthday (though Benjamin was born in 1999). I wish Michael all the best in his fight against this horrible disease and will be checking back for updates!
