Ryan Repchick
Thanks for stopping by. Please sign the guestbook before you leave. Ryan began treatment for Ewing's Sarcoma in July 2001 and finished treatment in April, 2002. We enjoyed two years and nine months of life post-treatment, and he was diagnosed with a relapse on February 11, 2005. We finished chemo August 16, 2005, and are currently living each moment to the fullest.
Journal
Friday, July 11, 2008 July 11, 2001. Seven years ago today Ryan was diagnosed with cancer and our lives changed forever. We're so very, very blessed to still be going strong. In alot of ways, we, especially Ryan, work hard to block out the cancer aspect and just focus on normal, every day ups and downs. And except for the constant stream of medical bills, we generally succeed. But at least we've learned, albeit the hard way, what truly matters in life. But the child makes me a nervous wreck. He doesn't take school, or his future, seriously, and he is far more focused on his social life. Generally people that start out that way grow out of it. Unfortunately for him, there's no time to live and learn. He turns 19 next month, and unless he is a full time student achieving all of his credits, he will get dropped off of my health insurance. Unfortunately only one of us is taking that seriously. Wanna guess which one? I'm so very grateful he's still here for the teenage years, but I swear I'm not going to make it through the teenage years. He's such a good kid when he wants to be, then there are those days he's equally irresponsible. Now I know why man created margaritas and hair color. For as bad as the economy is getting and as unfortunate is that is, there are also very good deals to be found. This week as a special surprise I swapped out our desktop computers for two new laptops. Every once in a while you need a Christmas in July pick-me-up. Not much else going on. Thanks for checking in. Love to ROH.
