Devon Marie Lam

Welcome to our Child Web Page. It has been provided to keep people updated about our Child. Born on January 24, 2003. Diagnosed on Oct 12, 2004 with an Anaplastic Ependymoma brain tumor. Suffered from post-surgery Posterior Fossa Mutism...currently almost resolved. As an inpatient, she was treated at Columbia Presbyterian in NYC from Oct 2004 to June 2005. Treatment consisted 6 months of high dose chemotherapy followed by a Stem Cell Transplant/Rescue...6 month remission resulted only to reoccur in Nov 2005. Treated w/ 6 weeks of conformal and IMRT radiation. At the moment her tumor is stable and is still present extending from the base of the pons down to C5 on her spinal cord. Slightly pushing against her brainstem, it is also wrapped around her basal ganglia. We are now treating her with alternative and homeopathic protocols. Your prayers are greatly appreciated.

Angela, Devon, and Grandma Lam have been in Hong Kong for 1 week now. Devon has mentioned that she likes Hong Kong and doesn't want to come home. Having too much fun with her cousin Dylan.
I have been spending my days and some nights at the library studying. This customs broker stuff is not easy.
The Ride for Kids fundraiser is right around the corner (2 weeks left). You can make any donations at the following webpage: http://www.firstgiving.com/dannylam

Can't wait until next week when Angela and Devon get back home. Stay cool.
