Can you believe summer is almost over? How depressing is that? Besides those VERY hot days we had, I don't want it to end. Sammi will be crushed when she won't be able to go to the beach anymore -- she had a blast there this summer.

Are you two all ready to go back to school? Sammi is VERY excited about going in to Kindergarten. She's so excited that she doesn't want to go to the summer program she's in anymore, she wants to be in Kindergarten NOW. I hope you guys are just as excited about going back to school.

Hi everyone!

So what's up for this holiday weekend? Any big plans? We had a cook-out at my Mom's yesterday and tonight we'll be going to watch the fireworks. Sammi loves the big BOOMS, but hates the ones that whistle -- I'm not crazy about them either. We hope all of you have a great time celebrating the 4th together!

As for any wedding in my future -- let's just say that if I were to hold my breath waiting for one, I'd pass out before it happened.

Thank you for the sweet condolences you left us for *Ruger* They meant the world to us.

How is every little thing on your end? When is the last day of school in your area? Sammi will be attending the same summer program she has been in for the last 2 years again, so she doesn't get much of a summer vacation. But she (*and I*) wouldn't have it any other way.

Our little flooding situation is under control, thank goodness. The only real damage (*besides having to rip up all of the carpeting*) was the fact that I lost every single CaringBridge picture, cards and letters that had been sent to us over the years. So I'm going to have to start asking for more to be sent our way. I'm sure I'll mention this on Sammi's page when I update it sometime next week.

I hope all is well with all of you. Our thoughts and prayers are always with you.

I know it has been awhile since I've been able to stop by your page (*and I apologize for that*), but it's great hearing about how wonderful everything has been going with you and your family. Besides that nasty flu that hit you and Nicholas during Christmas. I think it stinks enough when you get sick, but it's especially horrible when it happens around the holidays. I hope it didn't put a big damper on all of the fun.

6th grade/Junior High.....Wow! It's just amazing how quickly you kiddies grow up. Sammi will be going into Kindergarten next year. Yeah, I'm freaking out just a little over that fact. Au Bon Pain -- BLEH!!!

I could live my life very happily if I never eat there again. I lived off of their coffee while I was there, so the first thing I did when we were free was stop at a Dunkin Donuts. Mmmmm, Mmmmm GOOD!!! Did you know there's a Dunkin Donuts on the 3rd floor? Yeah, well it's closed for 3 weeks. What timing for Sammi to be admitted, huh?

So, what will you guys be doing to celebrate the 4th? Our celebration will be taking place tomorrow night since my step-Dad is leaving for his vacation Sunday. We have a ton of fireworks (and some sparklers too) to light off. We're going to have a BIG show in our neighborhood -- like we do every year. We were going to go to my Dad's house to do some swimming this weekend, but it was just too darn hot to do anything. So Sammi and I were lazy and sat inside with our AC's going all weekend. Tomorrow we're going to my Dad's so Sammi can go in the pool with him. I'll be bringing my camera along, so hopefully I'll be able to get some good pictures while we're there.

Hi everyone!

I apologize for being MIA lately. A lot of stuff has been going on these days and I haven't had much time for guestbook signing. But remember -- that never means that I'm not thinking of every one of you everyday.

Well, Sammi's last day of school was on Wednesday. Tuesday I went to her school so I could watch her and her friends put on a little show for all of the parents. It was too cute. Unfortunately I wasn't able to take very many pictures while I was there -- Miss Samantha didn't feel like sitting in one chair for too long, so it was hard to take a shot.

I heard a nasty rumor that this weekend is going to be a VERY hot one. I hope all of you have some ways of cooling down if we do end up getting some hot temps. Sammi and I may be going to my Dad's house to go swimming on Sunday. It's not set in stone yet, but more than likely that's what we'll be doing.

So how have you and you family been lately? Have you been finding ways to stay dry and have fun? We've had our TV off for two days now. Not because it's broken, but because we have satellite and it hasn't been working with all of the rain and wind we've been getting. So Sammi has been watching her videos while I try to find other ways to keep myself entertaing. It isn't raining at this very second, so I might just pull Sammi outside to have some fun.

Have you got any plans for the holiday weekend? I don't think we're going to be doing anything special. My step-Dad might cook on the grill this weekend, but that'll be about it. Just like every other holiday that passes, I don't care what we do to celebrate as long as we're together.

How was your weekend? Did you and your family do any fun things together? Sammi and I stayed in all weekend, but we were able to have a good time. Sammi just recently started watching and liking Dora the Explorer, so she passed her time by watching the two videos she owns. Think she'll start speaking Spanish one of these days? That'd be cool.

I'm looking out my window right now and I don't like what I see -- nothing but rain. Cold, cold rain. Plus tonight is trash night, so you know what that means. I have to go out in this yucky weather. Bleh! I'm NOT looking forward to that.

Ok, what is up with the rain hitting us every weekend? I'm not sure if you've been getting it too (I can't imagine the weather wouldn't be too much different), but I'm sick of it! I'm also sick of hearing Sammi begging me to go outside and blow bubbles. Let me tell you, bubble blowing in the rain just doesn't work out so well.

So how was your rainy weekend? Did you do anything fun? Sammi and I spent most of the weekend upstairs with Eddie and Ruger (my Mom's dogs). I get to take care of them while my Mom and step-Dad are on vacation. I didn't want them to be lonely, so Sammi and I spent lots of time with them. Sammi had fun tormenting them and feeding them WAY too many carrots and bones.

Do you guys have anything special planned for this weekend? The weather is supposed to be so-so (I heard), so hopefully Sammi and I will be able to spend sometime playing outside. Sammi and I will be going up to New Hampshire (to my Dad's house/Samantha's Papa) on Saturday. Missy (my Dad's girlfriend) hasn't seen Sammi in a little bit, so we'll be spending some quality time up there. I hope it's nice for at least a little while so we can spend some time outside.

How was your weekend? Ours was rained out and we hated every minute of it. Sammi just doesn't understand why she can't go outside and get soaked to the bone while she's playing. I'm all set. What's up with all of this rain? Will it ever go away? I can't wait for the sunny days to get here so we can play outside all day long. And Sammi is VERY anxious for us to go buy her a new pool so she can splash around in it while Mommy tans outside. Sounds like fun to me!

Enough of this rain already! I understand that April showers bring May flowers, so we better have LOTS of flowers by the time May rolls around next week. Sammi doesn't like the rain because it means she can't go outside to play and I don't like the rain because it means I have nothing better to do than a bunch of housework. Ick! What a rainy, yucky weekend we just had. I hope you and your family were able to keep yourselves enteratined without getting too soaked. Have I ever mentioned how much I don't like the rain? Snow I can take because it's usually light and fluffy and it doesn't soak through your clothes when it hits you. Rain, on the other hand, is something I could definitely do without. Especially on the weekend when I have a 4-year-old who doesn't understand why we can't go out to play and insists on giving me a hard time about it. Grrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!

I hope you're feeling better by now. NO MORE SICKNESS!!! Sammi is FINALLY over that head cold (that ended up turning into a chest cold) that was bugging her for almost 2 weeks. Poor baby. And I'm amazed that Jeff and I didn't catch it. My allergies have been driving me crazy lately, but I haven't been sick. Allergies -- BLEH!!!

Could you believe the weather we had yesterday? My goodness! Wasn't it gorgeous out?!?!?!? Sammi, my Grandma and I spent the entire afternoon playing in our backyard. We enjoyed absolutely every minute of that beautiful sunshine. We hope you were able to get out and enjoy some of it for yourself. Then I heard the bad news when I was watching the weather this morning -- this weekend is going to be a washout! Grrrrrrrr!!!

Well hon, we hope you and your family are doing well. Even if I'm not able to stop by and check-up on you as often as I'd like, please know that you and your family are ALWAYS in my thoughts and prayers.

Boy am I glad your Mom explained why there was a picture of you wearing a trash bag. I would have been lost wondering about that all day. That's a great idea for a smock, though. For some reason Sammi didn't like wearing the smocks in her classroom when she painted, so I had to send in one of Jeff's BIG shirts so she could paint.

How are you feeling these days? Are you on a speedy road to recovery? I hope so. Remember -- no more coming down with strep once you're better.

Can you believe we had a small hail storm here yesterday? I couldn't believe my eyes! I know our New England weather changes in the blink of an eye, but this was definitely a first. I'm SO happy to hear you're feeling better, hon. I know being sick isn't any fun. Jeff just got over a stomach bug and I'm hoping and praying it doesn't strike Sammi and I next. Sammi is sniffling and coughing a lot these days, but I'd honestly rather her have a head cold than have to deal with throwing up all the time. But that's just how I feel.

I'm also happy to hear you've been able to keep skating. I know how much you love to skate, but I wasn't sure whether or not you'd be able to since you weren't feeling all that great. I still have thoughts of seeing you perform in the Olympics one of these days. That would be awesome to see!

Don't you know that Mommy isn't allowed to get sick? Everyone else in the house can, but NEVER Mommy. That's what I'm told everytime I come down with a cold. I wish it worked that way. I wonder if all of you are getting as much snow as we are right now. It's like a mad house out there. Well, it seems like 2005 isn't off to too bad of a start with the Pats winning the Superbowl. Did you guys watch it? Wasn't it amazing? I was hoarse the next day from all of the screaming I did with my Mom and Sammi. We were VERY excited!

I want to thank all of you for remembering Sammi on her birthday. We got the card and present you sent and it was so very sweet of you. That was completely unexpected but very much appreciated. Thank you all!

How 'bout this snow, huh? What do you think? Will it ever end? And, unless I'm mistaken, I think I heard that more is on the way. Oh boy! I think Sammi's going to throw a fit if she has another snow day. She isn't at that age yet where it's fun to stay home from school for the day. I think we should get a "Hurry Up Spring" chant going -- maybe that will help.

Hi there, sweetheart!

I'm SO happy to hear that you had a wonderful time at camp. What sorts of fun things did you end up doing while you were there? Was it tough for you to come home after having so much fun? I bet you're VERY happy to be back home with that beautiful family of yours after spending so much time away at camp.

I can only imagine how VERY excited you must be to know you'll be skating in An Evening with the Champions. I know it's still a month away, but I can't wait to hear all about it! Tell your Mom that I'd LOVE to have some pictures sent our way of you skating in the event. Does anyone know yet if it will be televised? I'm still trying to figure that out in hopes I'll get a glimpse of you. You better believe I'll be taping it the night it airs if I'm able to!

You're going into the 4th grade? Or have you already started school by now? Wow! It's amazing how time just flies by! If you're back in school, how do you like it? Are any of your friends in your class? My 4th grade teacher was Miss Noyes and she was an absolute sweetheart! Just to let you know how much this lady enjoyed teaching -- she was my 4th grade teacher AND she was my Mom's 4th grade teacher!

I hope you have a wonderful time at school, hon! Samantha's first day of preschool was yesterday and she LOVES it already! In fact, I should end this entry soon so I can get her up and ready for another fun-filled day with her class.

Hi hon!

If you've tried e-mailing me or have left a message in Miss Samantha's guestbook, I just want you to know that I WILL be getting back to you VERY soon! Samantha has only been in school one day (today is her second) and already things are beginning to calm down around here. I should be able to spend some time online this afternoon while she's at school, so I'm hoping to get a lot accomplished. But, as we all know, what I hope for and what I get are always two totally different things.

It certainly sounds like you're having a wonderful summer. I think that's fantastic! Miss Samantha and I have been spending lots of time playing outside since the weather has been so nice around here. She hasn't done much swimming, but she loves being pulled around in her wagon and doing other entertaining things.

So when will you be leaving for the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp? I know you're going to have an excellent time while you're there! I can't wait to hear all of the camp stories you come home with.

Hey guys! Got 2 for the price of one today - Dad took Gooch to do the America's box - and mom got to sleep late!! Hee hee! We go as early as possible - 9 am - and so far the last 2 times we went theresonly 3 kids there total. Hey you guys - hope your stepfather is doing well and I wish him well if he does indeed need the surgery. Yep, theres always a couple that wear the loud colors at the school events - gooch insisted on a camouflage bandana instead of red or green for their A Day in the Country play.
I had spoken to a Doc from Dana Farber - about neuro psych testing for Gooch - he was very nice - hmm what was his name -- Delaney -- Brian Delaney I think it was. Really nice guy. Anyway, hope you are having a good weekend!

No more fevers? WOOHOO!!! GREAT news! Oh no, I hope I didn't just jinx you by saying that. Anyway, I'm SO happy to hear you're fever free. I hope those nasty fevers that have been bugging you have continued to stay FAR away from you.

Thank you so much for the sweet message you left for us in Samantha's guestbook. It's always so wonderful to hear from you. The initial shock of Samantha's diganosis is beginning to fade (though it seems to be taking its sweet time to do so) and I'm finding it easier to talk with people about it. I still have faith that everything will begin to go a lot more smoothly as soon as Samantha begins receiving help for her "condition".

You're an inspiration to all of the children who battle with cancer and their parents who love them so. It's reassuring to know that there is an end to this madness. Our Mitchell has been cancer-free for 8 months now. He still has a long road ahead from any possible side effects of chemo to the wicked disease showing its ugly face again. Mitchell has 4 years and 4 months to go until he is considered cancer-free. I never in my life wanted time to sail by so quickly as I do now.

Did you end up getting snow in your part of Mass today? We did! The best part was that it didn't stick to the roads around here. It stuck to the grass and it looks beautiful! In fact, I think it's still snowing out though it's hard to see in the darkness.

Skiing sounds like it was a ton of fun. I'm not coordinated enough to attempt it. With my luck I'd probably break a leg or two on my first try. I'm glad to hear you had such a great time.

I'm sorry you were so sick. There are some nasty stomach bugs and colds going around this year. Luckily {*knocking on wood*} we've only gotten the extreme head colds that never seem to want to leave your system. I'm glad you're feeling better now.

Well, it's Monday so you must be off to school again. Does it feel weird to be going back after being off for so long? The bus for Samantha will be here in a little bit so she can go back too. My daughter would have a fit, we had found three newborn bunnies in our backyard and after a week of caring for them I listened to all the people who told us we couldnt/shouldnt keep them, so we turned them over to a Wildlife Rehabber. Thank you for leaving a message in Samantha's guestbook. It was good hearing from you as always.

While Samantha didn't have quite a great time at the Stone Zoo, the rest of us did. I think her young age and lack of vision had a little to do with her not having so much fun. We're planning on trying again next year around her birthday. Hopefully she'll have more fun then.

Unfortunately the pandas weren't there when we visited, but the kola bears were. Oh, they were SO cute! When I was younger, the Stone Zoo wasn't even half as much fun or interesting as it is today. I can't wait to go back!

I LOVE the new picture of you on the front page of your site. Is that a shark's mouth you were in? Cool!

Wow! Sounds like you and your family had a wonderful time in New York. I've never visited the state, but have always wanted to. I hope lots of pictures were taken so you can remember the wonderful time you had for years to come.

Don't feel bad, hon. I have a HUGE phobias as far as needles go too. Whenever I need a blood test I start getting myself all upset. Tears, I find it hard to breathe and I've even passed out a couple of times. Doctors dread seeing me coming through the door for blood work, and I can't say I blame them!

It's good to hear everything is going well with you and your summer has been a great one filled with LOTS of fun. I hope it continues to be a good one for you and the rest of your family.

TWO teeth lost at camp?! That is so cool. My son also turned 8 in May and lost his front tooth during camp this year too! Except, his is the other front tooth, and was during a week of Day Camp. We told him he better get it out himself or the camp advisors would do it for him if they found out! Well, Dad tried to get it out one night and it was still attached quite a bit but the next day while my son was singing at camp -- out popped the tooth! :)

What a GREAT letter! Our 8-yr-old son went to Day Camp for 4 days this year...that was "different" enough for me, so letting Amanda go overnight goes to show what an awesome place she must be at (trusting everyone, etc.)!!

Awwww..that letter is so sweet!!!
Kody told me to tell you that "he just knows Amanda is having so much fun so you shouldn't worry, OK."

You know...I am really surprised that they let the kids write letters...at our Hole in the Wall/Boggy Creek camp...there was no letter writing or talking on the phone with family allowed. Even the cards I sent him weren't given to him until the last day. I guess they were just trying to prevent homesickness...
All in all..Kody never noticed I was missing and I was so lonely for him the whole week.
Next year though, I know what to expect..and I expect to have a whole lot of fun "Kim Time" knowing that he is safe and having a blast!
Great story about the PJ's..we got Kodys pictures back a couple of weeks ago that his counselor had taken of the whole week...Kody had the same clothes on in EVERY picture...he told us "they said we didn't have to change if we didn't want to". Sooo, all his nice, new, neatly packed matching outfits came home..unworn, crumpled up and stinking so bad of this one particular outfit that he never took off for a week.
There sure is a big difference between boys and girls, isn't there?? :0)
Hang in there Mom..your baby will be home soon! And...she will even be more grown up then when she left!!

Oh, you are going to LOVE camp!! Kody went a couple of weeks ago and he had so much fun he didn't want to come home...but, since he really did miss Mom's chocolate milk with green Incredible Hulk syrup (eeewwwww)...he decided that home wasn't too bad after all!

Truth me known..you will miss her like crazy and think of all the crazy things like "Is she brushing her teeth?" (answer..yes)...Is she taking a shower? (answer...probably not)..."Is she eating her vegies?" (answer..No, but she is probably wearing them in the big food fight!)..."Does she miss me?" (Answer..She's having so much fun she doesn't even know your missing!!!!)
Oh..one more word of advice...:0)...Before Kody left for camp, I went out shopping for some new clothes for him..after all, my son HAD to look perfect right? WRONG!! Every single outfit that I carefully labeled and rolled into little matching sets came back squished, smelly and unworn. I have a feeling he may have changed his clothes...um, twice!! He stunk to High Heaven (and I say that in a loving way!)..but the look on his precious face and the stories he told me of how many freinds he made and how much fun he had outweighed everything...

Hey. You don't know me but I came across your website somehow. I have to get IVIG every 2-4 weeks too. Just wanted to say that I get pre-medicated with IV phenergan, IV benadryl, and tylenol. I also get 250ml IV Solumedrol not as a pre-med but they always give it to me beforehand because it helps with the awful side effects. Just a thought for you guys that may help. It's great that Amanda's survived rhabdo! always great to hear a success story. take care. i'll stop by again to see if you've updated, but feel free to email me about any IVIG issues or anything else.

Hi Amanda, I just visited Colby Cole's website and saw a message on there from you so I thought I would visit your website also. You are such a cutie. I hope you are doing well. I will remember you in my prayers as well as Colby. I don't know Colby personally but I work with his little friend's mom and she tells us about him all the time. He is a doll baby also. We are all very worried about him as he is having a rough time right now. We just pray that God will make him better. My family has a team for the Relay for Life. It is a 24 hour walk we do to raise money for cancer research. We do this in hope that they will find a cure for all cancers and make you little guys better. I had cancer also, but I am doing well. I will light a luminary candle on the night of the Relay in honor of you and Colby. It is on August 11th. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Big hugs go out to you and your family.

Hi Amanda and Family, Hope this journal entry finds you all well. So how are things going. Things are going good for us. Karlee-Ann is dropping her decodron weight. She was up to 60 pds now she is down to 45. She is much more happier and comfortable. Her counts are good this week so we took the kids to the carnaval. She had so much fun. She wasen't even afraid of the rollercoaster. She said it went fast but wanted to again. Then we went down the huge slide in a potatoe sack atleast 10 times. We had to climb at least 2 flights of stairs every time. You will have to check out some new pictures we put on Karlee's web site.
