CREATE A PEPPER AT CHILI'S TO FIGHT CHILDHOOD CANCER!!!!

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Chili’s Grill & Bar® announced the kick-off of their fifth annual Create-A-Pepper to Fight Childhood Cancer campaign. Now through September 30, Chili’s restaurants around the country and, for the first time, in Puerto Rico, are marking National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month by inviting people to get creative and raise funds to help St. Jude find cures and save children with cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases.
Guests at participating Chili’s restaurants can contribute to St. Jude in multiple ways:

- Make a donation to St. Jude and receive a Create-A-Pepper chili pepper coloring sheet designed for display at restaurants during the month.

- Purchase Create-A-Pepper T-shirts that can be customized with permanent marker.

- Buy a customized Create-A-Pepper key that can be cut for use at home or the office.

- Eat at Chili’s on Monday, Sept. 29, when Chili’s will donate 100 percent of profits from participating restaurant sales to St. Jude.

Wow, Brage, it blows my mind to think that you can read this! I met you when you were just a tiny little newborn, and I had a little baby boy three weeks younger than you! I haven't seen you in a long time, so boy was I surprised when I saw this picture of this very handsome young man, instead of the beautiful little boy that I remembered. You sure look like your Dad. If you keep getting any more handsom- er, it will get crazy!!!

I hope it is ok with you, but I think we are going to put your kitty picture on our computer screen as a screen saver for a while. This way we will see your shining face all through the day and will be reminded to pray for you all the time! I think that would be a great idea!

Hi Brage, I am glad to see that you will be going home soon. I have been in Tampa for about 10 days and yesterday I came home to Jacksonville. Even though I don't care much for Jacksonville it was still good to be home in my own bed so I know how you are feeling about now.

This summer my husband David taught Sunday School to all the kids in our church and told them all about you. Tammy, I don't know how to say how very much I think of you and Omar and Brage and Serai and how ashamed I am of not being there for you. Yes with out a doubt, Austin and I pray for you all, all the time, but the cards he has made both here and at church, I did not send and I have made no other attempts to bring Austin to see Brage. Good Morning Brage, I hope today finds you feeling better than you did yesterday. I heard that you have been studying butterflies. In the last few years I have become interested in them and have planted many things in my yard that they like to eat. I also planted things that the catepillars like to eat. This way I get to watch them thru all the stages and the best part is when they come out of the chrysallis. They come out very slowly and even after they are out, they just hang there for a long time before they start trying out the wings. Then they start moving their wings very slowly until they get enough confidence to take off. When they finally fly away it is just the coolest thing to watch. Such grace and beauty. When I think of you and your struggle with this illness, it's like you are in the chrysallis and you are working to get out. Continue to be patient like the butterfly and one day you will soar with grace and beauty too. Tell your mom, dad and sister hello for me. I think of you and pray for you and your family every day.

I went to your other web page and saw your picture. It looks like you are a Tampa Bay Bucs fan. I was rooting for them to beat St. Louis last year. Maybe, they'll do it this year. No, Tammy, the hero is you... What a great Mom. And I know what you mean by keeping track of medicines, needles, etc. My Dad had a stroke when I was 26 and I insisted on taking care of him. He was paralyzed and lost his speach. He was a diabetic and I had to monitor his sugar, give him shots and watch his health in general. I, like you, lose my keys every day (ask your Mom -she constantly teases me - AND tells me I'm just like you). I only lasted 9 months and couldn't take care of him and my daughter (who was 3). So, Sweetie, we're all praying for you and Brage...hang in there...our hearts are with you. Janice

Brage and Tammy, I am soooo proud of both of you! Those big yucky needles they use for bone aspirations are even scary for grownups, and it's O.K. to cry. But, hey big guy, that CAT scan machine only cuts you up in PICTURES! That's real hard to imagine, cuz, how can it take pictures of your insides without cutting you? Why, it just shots laser beams all around and bounces back images! Sort of like how you can swim in a big pool of water without hurting the water! Way to go with the tree house issue and how about skating with the Tampa Bay Lightning? How cool is that! They have been great about raising money for cancer and I hope that inspires you.

I pray you feel peace and joy when you're frustrated. I pray the doctors and nurses will do all they can for you and your family. I pray these little notes will keep you focused on just getting better. And I pray that as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, you feel some resurrection too!

Brage, I doubt that you will remember me but I see you sometimes at your dads salon. I live in Jacksonville now so I don't get there very often but I heard that you were fighting cancer again and I wanted to know how you were doing. I sent your dad an Email and he told me about this site. I am so thankful that I can check in on you each day when I say my prayers. I have another friend, he was my doctor in Tampa for 27 years and he is also fighting cancer. I never get to hear about him so I think I am going to write him about this web site and maybe he can do it too. Do you have any hero's Brage? I would like to know who they are. I have a few hero's myself. My dad was my hero because he was always so smart and knew the answers to a lot of my questions. My son is my hero because he has been fighting a real tough learning disability for a long time and last December he finally got his AA degree and next month he will go to USF to finish his BA degree. That's how hero's are made - they fight the really hard battles and in the process they teach everyone around them how to be tough. You are my hero too Brage. I know that your strength comes from God and he is very proud of you. Your light is shining all across this country. People everywhere are praying for you because they know that you are soldier in Jesus's army.

I will continue to pray for you and your family. I will check in here each day to see how things are going for you and I will tell everyone at my church here and in Tampa to please pray for you too.

I just read your disappointing news today in your Journal. I too have had that same painful experience of the bone marrow aspiration. It does not seem right that he must endure yet another one. I can't believe they did not get it right the first time. Perhaps it is time to change hospitals or doctors. You and your husband must feel comfortable and have all the confidence in the world when it comes to his oncologist. Have they tried to give him Nupigyn? This will give his system a boost.

I want you to know that my prayers are there with you all and I pray to make Brage strong so that he can have that chemo treatment.

Hi Brage,

How is that Strawberry plant growing? I love strawberries and buy them every chance I get. I like stawberries and whipped cream and sometimes I dip them in chocolate, yumyum.
You are so lucky to live in a climate you can grow fruits and vegtables all year long. I live in the north up in New York state where we can only grow things in spring and summer and fall.

What's up with Tinker Bell? Have you taught Tinker Bell any tricks? I had a dog named Pudgy once and I loved to take her on walks. Do you walk Tinker? I bet Tinker gives you lots of puppy kisses all the time.

I have just visited your terrific web site and think this is such a wonderful way to be able to visit with you from so far away. I work at Mercedes Benz with your grandmother and she has always told me so much about you and now I feel like I actually got to meet you and know more about you and your wonderful family.

I wanted to tell you that even though you have been sick, I think you are such a lucky guy because you are surrounded by so much LOVE! I'd bet even that beautiful little Tinckle Bella puppy Santa brought you for Christmas is just loving you all over with his licks. He is so adorable, and SO ARE YOU!! I have a little white Bichon Frisse that I adore. He's like my little baby, and he's almost five years old already. His name is Milo. My son was 10 years old when we got him and he chose the name from the dog in the movie, MASK with Jim Carey. In case you don't know what Bichons look like, they look like poodles. I also have a cat named Patches. Do you have a cat or any other pets? I think pets are great!
