Gregory Orgel

Greg developed DSRCT shortly after his 13th birthday, in December of 2001. He sucessfully completed the "P6" protocol, designed by Dr. Brian Kushner at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Greg has been tumor free since surgery in April 2002. He completed all therapy in May of 2003.
Greg is 19 now and just finished his freshman year at the University of Miami, Fla.

Sorry everybody, that it took me SO LONG to update here! Life is really hectic in the Orgel house. Let's see....
We retrieved Greg safely from college. He didn't do as well as we'd hoped on his finals this semester, but being sick certainly had a lot to do with that. We'll give him a pass on that issue. He's OK now.
Getting home from Miami was a 2 day, almost non-stop marathon drive. Not looking forward to repeating that in August, sigh.
Greg is taking Physics at The University of Toledo this summer, trying to get a head start on year 2 coursework. He's not thrilled, that the course is only offered from 8-10am, M-F. Seems that it interferes with his social life, poor child.

Matt is at Camp Wise, outside of Cleveland. We dropped him off last week for an 8 week period as a "S.I.T." That's "Staff in Training". Also known as "Slave Labor". No matter, he's enjoying it. He's working with 9-10 yo boys.

I have to tell you, it was tough for awhile, having 2 teenage boys home at once. With Greg at school, I had adjusted meals accordingly. When he came home, had to add (a lot)! Now Matt is missing, but Greg is trying to put on weight. I can't win. Either I'm preparing too much, or too little. I also have a huge increase in laundry. Apparently, Greg goes thru no less than 3 outfits/day. Yeah, I could have him do his own, like he did at school.......but I'm his Mom, and he's only here until mid-August.

We're trying to fit in at least a short family vacation this summer, but it may be tough to arrange. Matt is gone until at least August 5th, and Greg and Matt both start school by August 20th. Don't know if Ira can arrange for vacation time on such a tight schedule. We'll see.

I'm preparing to go back to school, too. I'm going to try some online graduate courses this summer. Wish me luck.
