Hello everyone!!

Its Brain Tumor Action Week - May 5 through May 12th. Spread the word!!

Please register for the walk/run soon. We can e-mail you a register form. Just e-mail ksaba@comcast.net. The deadline for pre-registration and to be sure you get a t-shirt is May 15th (postmarked by). Please help us out by doing this through the mail --

We wanted to give everyone all the details for the 1st Annual Run-Walk for The Life of Riley Foundation.

First of all, I would like to thank “The Other Kelly Saba” for doing such a fantastic, incredible job on this event. It gives Ron and me such happiness to see everything that is happening with this very young foundation. You would be amazed. Kelly has a great committee put together to organize this awesome event. Several are friends and family and some are new friends, people we never knew. Its amazing how this has touched so many people. I went to the last organizational meeting and my mouth hit the floor. I walked in, kept my composure and was in awe of the number of people and the commitment of each and every one of them. I hope they all know what this means to us and we will make a difference with such a dedicated group. Thank you to you all!!!

The Run-Walk flyers are out. Thank you to DonnellyÂ’s Printing. The flyer contains a Registration Form, Pledge Form and all the details. If you would like us to send you one, please e-mail me at ksaba@comcast.net with your address. The posters for the event were designed by Erin Hall and they turned out great! Thank you Erin! If you want a poster as well to post in your office, etc., just let us know.

Oh and yes, there is a run/walk
Run – 5K (little over 3 miles – you can do it, walk or run) starts at 8:00 am
Walk/Run – 1 mile (bring the strollers and kids etc. - anyone can do this, right?)
starts at 8:30 am

After the Run be prepared to eat some great food and stay and visit with all the participants and guests. We hope everyone will bring their children and make it a beach day. We have lots of prizes and awards to give away.

Registration starts at 6:30 – Wow, but you can pre-register by mail and save some time. Please if you know you are coming, try to pre-register. It will help the morning go smoother. Just let us know you want a registration form and you can make as many copies as you want. The Pledge Form has some important information about brain tumors and the purpose of the foundation so that you can hit the pavement for those pledges. We will have prizes for almost everything including those people with the highest collected pledges.

If you need a place to stay, please e-mail me and I can get you some ideas. The Run is on beautiful Siesta Beach and is will be out of the peak season by then. There are some great places to stay so just e-mail us and we can help.

There are so many people I want to thank for everything they have done. In the next journal I will share with you all the incredible people that have worked so hard to make this Foundation something so positive. The foundation has already started two other fundraisers. Tracy Witzer designed our Remembrance Pin for the Foundation. They are so cute. It looks like different colored glass melted together to form the shape of a heart. They have been selling like crazy. We never thought it would take off like this. There is a major back order. A picture of the pins will be on the foundationÂ’s website soon, it is still under construction. We will also have a supply at the Run, but believe me they will go quick. They are a $5 donation to the Foundation and they are addicting. I have one to match every outfit.

Our second fundraiser is Sunshine the Bear. They are adorable. My sister-in-law, Fawn found them. They are the size of a beanie baby and their tag has the foundation’s logo on one side and “Hi my name is Sunshine and I was born to find a cure for pediatric brain tumors” on the other. They are very special and are also selling like crazy. They will be on the website and at the race, too.

All is well at home. I am very busy with taxes, but after Monday I can relax. I will first get back to our thank you cards. They have taken a back seat with work and everything, but I look forward to starting them again and letting everyone know how appreciative Ron and I are of everything you did.

Better say bye for now. If you think that you will be joining us at the run, please leave a message in the guestbook so everyone can start getting excited about this special day.

We love you all and thank you for all the continuous prayers. We do still need them! We take it day by day and have more good days than not so good days. We continue to lean on each other. Take care of yourselves.

Ron and Kelly
