Hip hop, hippety hop
My “Easter Bunny” went off to the shop,
He bought me an egg and lots of chocs
And packed them into a cardboard box.
Then he wrapped it with paper and shiny string
It really was such a pretty thing.
Disaster struck when I opened the door-
He slid across the parquet floor,
He went round the corner and past the stairs
And finished up in a pile of chairs.
Of the Easter goodies not a trace,
he’d thrown them into my fireplace!
So a warning before you go opening doors
Make sure your “Bunny” has non-slip paws!

I had originally planned to visit as many caringbridge sites as possible, and leave some encouraging words, prior to my daughters passing. Unfortunately her passing came sooner than we had expected, but longer than any of her doctors expected.

Another angel takes flight.

My daughter Pam had a brain tumor and was fighting the fight since November 4th, 2002, after the birth of her daughter (Casey Morgan). My youngest daughter, Karen, set up a caringbridge website for Pam. Karen's friends mother shared a prayer with us, that I would like to share with you and CJ. It's called DON'T QUIT:
Don't Quit -
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, When the road you're trudging seems all uphill, When the funds are low and the debts are high, and you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit - Rest if you must, but do not quit. Life is queer with its twists and turns, As every one of us sometimes learns, And many a fellow turns about, When he might have won had he stuck it out. Don't give up though the pace seems slow - You may succeed with another blow. Often the goal is nearer than it seems to a faint and faltering man; Often the struggler has given up when he might have captured the victor's cup. And he learned too late when the night came down, How close he was to the golden crown. Success is failure turned inside out - The silver tint of the clouds of doubt, And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems afar, So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit, It's when things seem worst that you mustn’t quit.(Just call on Jesus).

I would also like to share a saying that was on the card my wife Diane picked out, and we bought for Pam:

If you were a star
That wasn’t expected back
In the universe
For a thousand years,
I’d wait.

If you were the sky
And everyone went inside
When you got sad
And started to rain,
I’d stay.

And if you were a peach
And the world decided to get rid of all peaches,

Hey CJ, how are you doing? I hope you all are enjoying your summer!!! Did I ever tell you we found some bunnies in our backyard recently. Actually, our dog did - the kids were in the pool and she was barking like crazy under the pool deck. Finally when we checked there was a bunny nest with a baby bunny in it. Then after more looking through it we found 2 more. So since I have 3 kids and there was 3 bunnies, they each named one. We left lettuce and water and carrots out there but it was never touched so we dont think the mom came back. About 2 days later we took them in to feed them and we had them a week, feeding them kitten milk from a kitten bottle or dropper. They were SO cute! They called them Jean, Robin and Nibbles. My son Gooch called his Jean, named after Jean Smart in XMen. They opened their eyes while we had them and by the end of the week we had them they were running all over, more running than hopping. My husband was convinced they were going to grow up and bite our fingers off, so we turned them over to a Childrens Museum that is a wildlife rehab center near us. I hope they are being taken care of, if they werent already released. I know the kids loved them and they really were cute!! That was our thrill for the summer – hope you are enjoying yours!

Hi Mandy, Jamie and CJ,
Your family is included in my prayers every day. I pray for CJ to make a full recovery. He has already been through so much, so he's proven he is a little fighter! My very best friend in the world has a 2-year-old daughter who had a stroke last year. She doesn't have Hurler Syndrome, but had a cyst on her brain that required 5 surgeries to correct, then had menengitis and a stroke. Now she is almost back to where she was before, and making improvements all the time. Miracles still happen, and little CJ isn't going to stop fighting now. My son, Cameron, had Hurler Syndrom and went through transplant in Texas (we live in Alabama)... he died on day +16, but he never stopped fighting, either. These kids are strong and amazing and wonderful, and we are so blessed by them. I pray that God will hold you close and keep you at peace. I will check back for updates again soon!

I do not know if you remember us but our daughters name was Morgan Awrey. She went through a really rough transplant and only made it 9 months before she died. She died on Dec.13, 2002. I had met little CJ's Papa Joel the other day, he had a story to tell about a little brave boy who means everything to him. I was so touched by this man and his story that I had to write. It sounds that CJ is a very lucky little boy despite what he has to go through. I pray often for this boy I have never met. I have a 3 year old daughter and it hits home with me. Hi you all, I haven't written lately but you know you are in our prayers daily. I get a up date from Paige everyday. Sure was sorry to hear about your friends child but I know God will give then just the kind of grace they need everyday, you know the bible tells us they are Gods childern and he only lets us have them to love and care for awhile whether it is a day are along time so that is why they are so special and we should enjoy every minute with them. I never knew why being a grandmother was so wonderfull to people till Tanner came along and I realize that all the things I missed with Tony trying to survive in the world and raising him I get to do in slow motion with Tanner so try to enjoy CJ'S life everyday in slow motion . It has be wonderfull having your mother at church the last two sundays CJ has touch many life's and don't ever know it. We have so many people in our church praying so I have faith God is going to let things go well. Peanut, Sorry I haven't written in a few days. I've had computer problems. Mom and Dad tell us the great news. You are truly a miracle from God. I'm so glad you're getting out of your room. Your blood counts up, you can take your medicine without IV's, you may be going back to your apartment for Christmas, speech and physical therophy not needed at this time. Hi to all from your crazy cousin and Jack in Florida. We are now working in Daytona Beach, Fla. The weather is awful, only 81 today!!! I can't wait until winter hits us, if it does, this year. Just spoke with "Grandpa" Buford and he gave me this web site to see what's going on. After I stopped crying with joy and love for all of you, I had to write and say "GOD BLESS YOU ALL"!!!!! Good evening Peanut, This is MeMe again. I'm having to work late again. I was working and thinking that you are GOD-SIZED, CJ, and that is when God does his best work when the situation you're in can only be solved by God. I wanted to tell you again how much I love and miss you. When we prayed this morning for God to bless you like never before, he sure did answer quickly. When I spoke with Mommy this afternoon, she told me your white blood count had gone up to 200. Another miracle for you to share in years to come. I'm so glad you are a part of our lives. Each time I look at your pictures, I see your Nana Trigger. She had beautiful eyes just like you. I found a ladybug on the counter this week. I told Sissy it had to be Trigger watching over you to let us know you are never alone. I believe she is truly your guardian angel. She always wanted a grandbaby. Even though she can't be here with us in body, I know she is with us in spirit; and I know she would be so proud of you and your Dad and Mom; and would love you with all her heart. We will say a special prayer tonight that your count will continue to rise each day until you are all better. Well, I guess I need to get back to work. I'll write again on Monday and will call you when I get home tonight. Be a good boy. Say your JABEZ prayer tonight as we do each night. Please let Mom and Dad know if you ever need me - I'm a good hugger and have a lot of them saved up just for you. I found out about C.J. through Buford (C.J`s grandfather)and would like to remind readers that there is a trust fund at CCB bank in Pickens SC named "CJ Pace Fund". Word is that Buford is losing his job at Duke Energy. Please give to this cause. CJ does things to people no one will ever know. I have a growth on my eye due to dryness, but each day that I follow his progress I now generate alot of tears. I lost 2 nieces to cystic fibrosis and can almost feel your pain. He will be on our prayer list continuously at Hopewell Baptist in Seneca. GOD has a purpose for CJ, he has already generated more love and concern than I have my whole life.
