PSALM 92:12 " THE RIGHTEOUS SHALL FLOURISH LIKE A PALM TREE, HE SHALL GROW LIKE A CEDAR OF LEBANON."
Please see journal entry dated Nov 16th "04" in journal history.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Written in the pages of this journal you will find real people,real problems,real solutions,real victory,and THE REAL GOD!!!
We do not claim to be anything but BLOOD BOUGHT,BORN AGAIN, SPIRIT-FILLED CHRISTIANS.What we hope to represent is CHRIST through his written word.
We believe the "BIBLE" is the DIVINE INSPIRED WORD OF GOD.WE BELIEVE WE ARE WHAT IT SAYS WE ARE, WE CAN HAVE WHAT IT SAYS WE CAN HAVE, AND DO WHAT IT SAYS WE CAN DO! We would not be able to speak as we do and write what is written in these pages, had this word not have been PROVEN in our own life and situation.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mitchell was diagnosed with stage 3 alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma,long for (arms) on 1/19/01.This was our "911"
backwards.
Mitchell's cancer had an unfavorable histology,unfavorable sight(upper right thigh),unfavorable size tumor 8x8 cm,and regional nodal involvement.
The only things favorable were the t(1;13) translocation,his age and that the cancer was still considered local ie;no metastisies.
The biggest favor we had was THE FAVOR OF GOD!!!!!!
MITCHELL RECIEVED 42 WEEKS OF VAC, REDUCED DOSES OF RADIATION BECAUSE HE HAD A "COMPLETE RESPONSE" AT INDUCTION PHASE OF TREATMENT!
THE MOST EFFECTIVE TREATMENT WAS THE

G-race
O-n
D-emand

Mitchell continues to thrive everyday!
His speech and language have dramaticaly improved. The only scars are from his surgerys.We do not believe he remembers much of his journey,if any.
We will continue to bless, encourage and prophesy over him.According to proverbs;18:21 "The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat it's fruit."We have lived by this principle for five years! When a wrong thought comes to our mind, we destroy it with the word of God before it comes out of our mouth.This is according to 2Corinthians 10;5 "WE DEMOLISH ARGUMENTS AND EVERY PRETENTION THAT SETS ITSELF UP AGAINST THE KNOWLEDGEOF GOD, AND WE TAKE CAPTIVE EVERY THOUGHT TO MAKE IT OBEDIENT TO CHRIST."

We refuse to let FEAR rule us.Fear does not come from God. 2Timothy "God hath not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and a sound mind."FEAR AND FAITH DO NOT DWELL TOGETHER!

The Mission Is You
by John Fischer

Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:27

You have a mission in life and this is it: you. Your mission is not only your story, though that is part of it, it is you, because Christ is in you. You were made to be a vessel to carry Him and reflect Him through your personality as He lives His life through yours. You are the temple, the dwelling place of the most high. You are a carrier of Christ; He lives again in you. Jesus died, rose again and went to heaven in His new body, but He lives on through His Spirit in us. You could say He never really left; He just took up residence in us.

The Bible calls you lots of things, but they all underline this point. You are a fragrance of Christ wherever you go (2 Corinthians 2:17). You are a letter known and read by everyone (2 Corinthians 3:1-2). You are a vessel carrying around a treasure -- “the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:6-7). And all of us together form the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12). All this to say that you and I are God's greatest statement. It's why He made us.

Wait a minute. “Doesn't that put a lot of pressure on me?” you ask. “How can I possibly be the equivalent of Christ walking around on earth? How can I do justice to this task?”

Here's the deal. You aren't Christ all by yourself. We together form the body of Christ. All of us. Each one with a gift; each one needing the others to show the full character of Jesus.

And we aren't perfect, either; we are in process. And this is okay. Your slip-ups and failures and sins don't negate the presence of Christ in your life. They show why you have Him - why you need Him. He is still perfectly capable of being all these things in us, in spite of us.

The process, in fact, is the story we tell. Your life makes up the pages on which the story of Christ's redemption of you is told. It's a story in process. If we were complete and perfect, we wouldn't have much to tell and no one could relate to us. As it is, we can tell new parts of the story every day as those around us witness the story unfolding.

All of this means that you are the evidence of the reality of Christ to the world, because God has a mission, and the mission is you.

Journal

It has been close to 10 years since I have updated this page. I just want those who have come here for updates to know I am sorry for not doing better than I have done with this. Mitchell is now a healthy 16 year old young man! He is a sophomore in high school and we are starting to think about what he will do beyond high school. College is a must and he is leaning toward an accounting major.
Mitch is still very strong willed and gets right back up when he is knocked down. He has suffered much emotionally from the after effects of his cancer treatment but he has overcome it all! He has a leg length discrepency of about 1 3/4 inches and his leg is about nine inches smaller than the other. It bothers him but he takes it all in stride.
Mitch still swims competitively on his high school varsity team. As many of his peers have grown it has been difficult for Mitch to deal with the fact that he has had to slow down his growth for the right leg to catch the left. I suppose it is a small price to pay for being alive. We recently met with an orthopedic surgeon through MD Anderson to talk about reconstruction of his leg. In the meeting she was very clear that kids like Mitch do not make it where he is very often and many of the kids she sees would love to trade him places. I think that is difficult for Mitch to see when he does not live in their world or remember anything about their world. He lives in an able bodied world and he wants 2 good legs! Frankly, in one respect, I felt a bit shamed by the surgeon that we would even dare complain about Mitch trying to find " where he fits" since the paralympic world told him he was too strong. That's another story for another time! No, there certainly aren't very many situations like Mith's around. About a young man who works just as hard as the next guy , but because there is no level playing field, the other guy seems to excel quicker. He isn't quite disabled and he isn't quite able bodied. Truly a unique situation VERY FEW people understand, much less want to take the time to. This cancer survivor's world is a world of it's own and only those who are here or who have been here could possibly understand. My own family ( with exception of a very few) is clueless.
I am not sure how many come here anymore but ,for me today, it's a safe place and a great alternative to facebook. I am convinced facebook is not the forum for being real.
After it is all said and done today I stand on Psalm 146.
My hope is still in the Lord. He is my refuge , my strength, and the God of my salvation. I take nothing back from any entries posted on this site. God is still God and he has a purpose for Mitch.
Mitch left before 9 am this morning to paintball with some friends from church. It is almost 3:30 and he is still not home. So thankful Mitch has lived for me to see this day. Thank you Jesus!
