Nathan Fleming, his Journey Welcome to Nathan's website. Nathan had a normal life up until a few months prior to his diagnosis of Metachromatic Leukodystrophy. The diagnosis came on January 21, 2002. Nathan, born March 14, 1986 passed April 1, 2003 after the most couragous fight. He was so brave. Nathan's life and journey show what an incredible young man he was. We will forever be blessed because Nathan was in our lives. He will always live in our hearts and minds.
Nathan we will forever love you.

I still wonder sometimes what I could have done differently. Natural, I suppose. I don't blame myself but still mourn for him, for me. So much reminds me of Nathan and an array of emotions come to the surface. The lyrics of a song, a blonde headed little boy, black and white t-shirts are all reminders. The young people around his age really pull my heartstrings. But at the same time, I love being around them. Perhaps it's because that's as close as I can get.
I am still thankful, even with the sadness, I was Nathan's mother. A godsend for me. He was so cute when he was little. Always inquisitive looking for a treasure (shells or rocks, all boy). He liked bringing me flowers when the other treasures didn't fill his little hands. A great bowler, fun to watch, he loved it so much. Amazingly strong going through transplant. And what many may not have known, crazy funny sometimes.
Miss him.
I love you sweet Nathan. You are missed by all of us... ~Mom
