Hope this finds you doing well. We're in different shoes, but I was worried to get the immunizations too after my son finished chemo for leukemia. He has since started getting weird and sudden reactions to bug bites that he never had prior, but what can you do, they make you feel negligent if you try to delay the shots.. I'm so glad to hear Nicolas is doing well..what great news. On the other hand, I'm so sorry a loved one of yours is dying of cancer...just reading what you wrote about her, it reminded me so much of my mom's last days...she couldn't walk or talk either and she was just skin and bones...I had/have never felt so much anger, frustration, sadness and pain all at once ever...but that is what cancer does to people. It's a brutal disease to say the least. Let's just all hope a cure is found SOON! Your loved one is in my prayers and so is the rest of your family...

I found your site through adopt a kid(isn't it a wonderful idea!)
I Completely understand the fear of letting the little ones go to preschool.I was there in July. When I decided that my daughter needed to go to group daycare, I was so afraid how the other kids would react to her(at the time she couldn't walk or talk and was two and a half)They were wonderful, both the kids and the teachers.Within weeks she was walking! I don't know if she was just ready to walk or if seeing her peers running around gave her the extra push she needed. Good luck with your desicion. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I found your web site on another site where they give away free angels to those who have problems, etc. I have a daughter who has recovered from brain cancer in the hypothalamus and pituitary glands and optical nerves but the radiation treatments through the normal cells to the center of the brain caused them to be destroyed leaving her mentally handicapped. She got the cancer at 5 1/2 years old and today she is almost 44. She lives in a home for others like herself and has many physical problems but is young in actions and enjoys life!

Prayers! Wishing only positive things for Nic. I notice the guest book has been cleaned up some and I have to admit I was reluctant to respond to the person who was posting so often to it as I felt they were far too competent to have all the problems indicated on their web pages. I believe some of the problems were real mostly the emotional ones. That is unfortunate and I am praying that person gets help for it. Thanks for adopting Cameron from Adopt A Kid. He gets some visits from his Dad's family but most of his posts come from families just like yours, someone who knows the nightmare and the horrors of having a child with a serious situation. I fail to understand how our research has an innoculation for feline luekemia and we still have children being dx with it. Seems so unfair. Wishing you love and happiness!

I just wanted to warn you about a girl named Jessica Thomas who is preying our sympathys. She does not have cerebal palsy, she actually drives a car, she has also removed her website because many are now finding out that she is a fake. She has received numerous gifts from people who thought she was really sick and even lied about a friend of hers named Bailee whom she claims died. This little girl is alive and has a website on caringbridge. She does not even live near Jessica Thomas, she is featured on the game for the best website, I just hope people realize that she is lying alot and they stop voting for herr and vote for those who really have genuine great websites. Thank you for listening, be very wary of her, she has been kicked off many websites and is not allowed to even have a quilt done for her anymore, she has hurt to many people and she must be stopped!!

Hi this is Sami's mom. So glad you signed into our site: www.caringbridge.org/nj/samigray.

Try using sign language to communicate with Nic. I started teaching Sami before she was even diagnosed with cancer. It really helped during treatment and those trying times when we couldn't understand a 2year old language. I must admit, I have been not been using the signs much. Though I think it is a great tool and I will make an effort again. Fish is easy to learn. So is drink and juice. More was Sami's first sign (just put your figures together like you were holding a grape in each one hand, then move your hands like you are touching the grape...that is more).
