We want to thank all of you who have been the body of Christ to us in so many, many ways. Many people have requested a quick update and this will be just that.

Kaden has continued to get weaker and lose function as the tumor progresses. He lost speech a couple weeks ago and soon after lost his ability to move except for his right hand and right foot. He communicates now by squeezing our finger with his right hand. Amazingly, even though we know that unless God chooses to intervene with an earthly miracle of healing for Kaden (which we know he can) that these are likely Kaden’s last days with us here. He has already made it so much longer than we (and especially health care persons) anticipated. What a little courageous fighter he is! It is so hard to think of the tumor taking over and causing so much turmoil. It is comforting to know that in the end, even this awful tumor that appears will take Kaden’s life on this earth, won’t win. Christ has the final say and victory over death and the grave, and we will never cry or hurt again.

Please pray for us as this transition will be so hard. How do you ever fill that hole that will be left in our family? We won’t and don’t want to. Kaden has been such a ray of sunshine in our lives and we have learned so much from him. We can only rely on the promise from God that He will never leave us or forsake us and that He gives grace and mercy for the minute, hour, or day. Although the physical separation will be excruciating, we hold on to the hope that Kaden will be with our Lord in heaven and will truly be healed and whole. The best part is that we will be with him in heaven someday. What a day of rejoicing that will be! Stacea asked if she would be taller in heaven so she could look down and find Kaden. We reassured her that she will be able to find Kaden.

Please pray for the Pauli family as we need to rest in the arms of God now more than ever.
