We have a house full of sickos. It started over a week ago with Samee and a slight runny nose. Then Karuna came down with it. And then they both got better, right before they both got worse!
Thursday night Samee started coughing non-stop and has not stopped since. He is the energizer bunny and usually runs in circles during colds, but this one has turned him into a sleepy, crabby, inconsolable baby. Many of you probably don't know he has asthma, so things like this can get pretty bad for him. We've kept him steady on his two inhalers and he was doing a bit better this evening...after a long nap. He's also had a fever.
Karuna still has a nasty cough and her sats have been all over the place. She's not too bad, fortunately.
The kids had their school conferences this week and I was pleasantly surprised to hear that Samee is doing really well in preschool. He is behaving himself, helpful, and on target or ahead with all of his development. Karuna did not meet any of her goals other than vision this quarter, but I don't think her teachers understand her or her nonverbal signs. They all just think I am in denial about her cognitive abilities. Anyway, that's another whole story.
Hopefully both kids will be well for a few days once they kick this one. I seriously do not think we have had more than three days of healthy kids since September. One or the other is always sick. The joys of having a 3yo in a regular preschool class...they are always picking each other's noses!
