Day +318 PM Ok, so Eddie and I needed to talk to the nurse practioner some more about the drop in platelets in order to feel better. Eddie called and she said that she is not at all worried about his counts. Viruses can lower platelet levels. Plus, his platelet level of 100+ last month meant that his platelets started being counted by a machine instead of by hand. It seems that when platelets are really low, the hospital does it by hand. I guess Mason "graduated" to the machine. This could have also made a difference in the counts. Anyway, I feel better mentally even though physically I have a bad cold. Eddie and I continue to have it the worst....Mason is hanging in there and continues to go to school. Eddie and I have always prayed to be the ones who were sick, so I guess our prayers have been answered. I'll finish on a light note. You know how much Mason likes GOOD food. Well, I cannot please him with his lunch. He is unhappy with anything I pack in his lunch and unhappy with the lunches he can buy at school... I'm not sure what to do. I have tried a thermos with hot food, but he says the food is not hot enough when he eats it. His new after-school snack is a Triscuit with cream cheese and a nice hunk of smoked salmon!! How do I please this child?!!! Any suggestions? Andrea
