Trevor’s Story

Site created on June 7, 2007

Thank you for visiting, this is Trevor's Website to update all of our family and friends.

Trevor Christopher was born Tuesday May 29th, 2007 at 10:24pm via emergency c-section. Trevor was not tolerating labor and needed to arrive quickly. He weighed 6 pounds 2 ounces; 19 inches long.

Trevor was born with a rare heart defect known as Truncus Areteriosus w/ hypoplastic arch and VSD. (ASD was found during surgery and repaired)

It was discovered on his second day of life and things happened very fast from then on. They did a ECHO-cardiogram and EKG and then admitted him to the NICU at UCH, where he was born. He was then transfered to St. Joseph's Children's Hospital Thursday night about 10pm.

I was released from UCH Friday midday and Zate and I went straight to St. Joe's to see Trevor. We have been here everyday since.

Trevor is very strong and has been very stable the whole time he's been here. Thank you Jesus for that.

He will need life long surgeries as he grows and as the conduits wear out. His recovery time from this first surgery will be about 4 weeks. He will be in the PCICU (pediatric cardiac ICU) as he recovers. We pray that he can come home as soon as possible!

Updates:
Trevor did amazingly with his surgery, he was off the Ventilator in less than 3 days and we were sent home 11 days post surgery!!! Thank the Good Lord!

Trevor is a month old now and doing well, he is gaining weight and growing fast! He is a fighter...with a temper LOL he is a joy and a miracle.

Trevor will be 2 months old tomorrow and he is thriving! He is nearly 9 pounds and eating like a champ. We are all in awe and love with him.

We just had a wonderful cardiology appt and we didn't have to drive to Perth 🙌

Dr Steve comes to Geraldton occasionally and we got to see him at the local hospital.

Trevor is doing so well! Everything looks excellent and his INR is stable. Seriously I am so pleased ❤️❤️❤️

Trev has started Year 12 😳 he's also in a Pre-Apprenticeship program in Engineering: Fitting and Machining at Tafe two days a week. AND working a part time job. We are so proud of him. I'm definitely feeling emotional with all this growing up he's doing 😉

He's harder to get pics of these days but here's a couple from today.

Heart Hugs,
Sarah
