I came across your site today and looked through ALL your pics - I havn't read through your history yet but I just have to tell you how amazing you are (yes, I know... probably not a cool thing to post but the truth must be told!)
I can't begin to imagine how hard it must be dealing with your illness but in every photo your eyes sparkle and I can really see the inner angel rebel! Its amazing how a life force can transmit over this weird thing we call the web (and I'm not talking about my tangled web!)
I have an inoperable brain tumor which is dormant for now ::knock painfully on wood::. It gave me a kick in the pants to reassess my life and priorities. Going through this has made me find people like you who are true inspirations - not because of your disabilities but for who you are, how you've dealt with them, and your essence.

We are having Blizzard 2004, or so the TV says. There was no school today, due to the weather. But I live out on country roads, so naturally, they are the last ones to see a plow!! Shoot, I can't even find my driveway today, for all of the snow!! The farmer came through on a tractor/plow, but ya just can't see that he made any difference, and it's snowing like crazy again, to boot!!

Yanno, it's been forever since I've been here!! I'm so sorry. I do like to try to keep up with everyone, but sheesh, sometimes it's hard. I still keep you in my little prayer at night though.
I've been working 2 jobs now, and just don't have the time to breathe much, let alone do much of anything else.
At any rate, I just read where you had to have some surgery. I hope that everything went alright and that you were able to be home for Christmas.
I think about you a lot, when I'm watching TV at night. That's how I unwind after all of those long days. Anyhow...when Conan comes on, I say to myself (quietly, so no one thinks I'm nuts).."I wonder if Lauren is awake and watching". Kind of a dumb question, huh? lol

My daughter Pam has a brain tumor and has been fighting the fight since November 4th, 2002, after the birth of her daughter (Casey Morgan). My youngest daughter, Karen, set up a caringbridge website for Pam. Karen's friends mother shared a prayer with us, that I would like to share with you. It's called DON'T QUIT:
Don't Quit -

Hey Lauren,
Sorry your having all the problems with the tube still! Hopefully the surgery will be quick and will resolve all the issues. We surrvived Isabel but lost power for 5.5 days.....whew thats long enough. We lost lost of tree limbs and have lots of debris but were fortunate enough not to have any serious damage. Lindsey is feeling awesome! Hopefully they'll go back to school tomorrow! Take care and we'll check in for the surgery update.
ps. Ask your Mom if I can have some of those "roids"

Hey Lauren! I just had a chance to look at your site and it is sooo good! I went to W. Palm Beach, FL for the summer, got a job there and have decided to stay for awhile. I'll have to send you some sea shells and sand! Collecting them is my favoite thing to do on Sunday afternoons at the beach. It's been tough being so far from home (15 hours) but I talk to my Mom EVERY day and right now I am here for a visit. I haven't been home since the end of May, so it was time to take a break to see my parents, Terra & her boys (they are my angels - I miss Slayden, my oldest nephew more than anyone!). I wish I could come visit - maybe I can sometime over the next year. Morgan is so grown up! I expected you to be, but she was a shock! I hear she's quite the basketball star. Glad to hear that you're recent infection wasn't serious and to just judge by your writing, you're doing great! Thanks for visiting Shannon's Web page and leaving her an entry. She is an inspiration to all of us and we have been so blessed by all the prayers and support we have received from so many people. Shannon is very busy right now, we spent all day yesterday moving her in to her new apartment as she is getting ready to go back to classes at NC State!! It seems hard to believe that she is doing so well and at this point after all that she has been through. I have read all your guestbook entries and journal entries and looked at all your photos. It looks like you have been having a really rough time but it also looks like you have a wonderful family to support you. I am sorry that you have to go through what you are experiencing. Just remember that there are wonderful doctors and nurses that are finding new cures for all types of diseases every day and hopefully yours will be coming soon. Just a few years ago doctors did not have the skills to deal with the problems that Shannon has and now she is doing well. Keep the faith!! We will all be praying for you and thanks again for writing Shannon. I know she will answer you back after things calm down a bit. Take Care!!

We hope your tummy is feeling better! Lindsey loved your rose...she absolutely loves flowers. There are none safe in my yard. :) or anyone else's for that matter.
I think the best present she ever got in the hospital was a huge bouqet of silk flowers they were gourgeous. They lasted about 2 minutes....then the scissors were out and she tore that bouqet up...She made so many crafts with them it was amazing. She's the only 5 year old kid I know that watches HGTV and the cooking shows!
Well I'd better go..we are praying all goes well with the treatment and as for the clog...uggh! Did you stick the kitchen sink down there? hehe....

Sorry that amongst all the other things you also have an earache.It must be going around. Lindsey had one last week and so did our other cb friend Jacob. LIndsey is doing pretty well. She's been having some leg pain that I'm kinda keeping an eye on. I don't know if it from being a little more active or what. I pray thats it. When she first got sick she had alot of leg pain and it is one of the signs/symptoms of Leukemia. I guess I'll always be scared about relaspe etc. We only have 2 more rounds of chemo and I guess I'm nervous how her body will do without it. Weird huh? First I was nervous about her getting it now I'm nervous about it ending. Our hospital is building a new hem-onc clinic and I keep trying to get them to put in a Tiki Lounge for the parents. :) There not buying it. I told them I'll just settle for a pepto bismal bar then. hehe. I was reading thru some of you journal..you know you ought to think about publishing some of your poetry if you haven't already. WEll I guess I've bent your ear enough. Hope I haven't given your other ear an ache. :)

Hey Lauren...Thanks so much for stopping to visit Cody's site this weekend...Cody had a G-tube in his stomach...occassionally his balloon pops and we have to scramble around to try and put in a new one which Cody thinks is THE most painful experience he has to deal with out of everything...I always feel so bad when I have to switch him out :(
Anyway...we hope that your JG was able to be unclogged with all of the efforts you all are trying instead of anything drastic...

How are you? Sorry for not writing in a looooooong time. I know I should never be too busy to write, but I have been all over the place lately. Me and my roommates have recently moved and I am in the process of helping my parents move now. I wasn't a big fan of moving before, but now I really dispise it. I didn't realize how much junk I had collected over the years. My Mom is even worse. I don't think she's thrown anything away in 20 years!
Enough with me though; I hope you are doing great! I miss talking to you and hanging out. Hopefully you have conquered the world of video games without me. I'm sure you did. I hope all is well. It's so nice to get an email from you! Most of the emails I get are work related, so when I get messages from friends it brightens the day. How about those J-Hawks! I bet you are excited. One more and they will be CHAMPIONS. I only have one concern. My sisters attend KU in Lawerence and I am in fear of their safety. I don't know if you saw the rioting in Columbus, Ohio when the Ohio State Buckeyes won the college football championship in January. It was unbelievable! Cars were turned over, fires were started in buildings, just an array of unnecessary violence. Why some people feel like causing trouble in result of a job well done is beyond me. I'm hoping my sisters will be safe. Hopefully the possible celebration will be a calm one.
How about the cold weather coming back? That must give you a smile! After last week I thought we wouldn't see tempertures below 65 until September.
Sorry about the other day when you called. I usually have time to chat, but that was one of those unfortnate times when I had to run. Tracy Baker has been out of the office on vacation and I have been doing a lot of catching up on other parts of my job that I usually don't have time for.
