Remembering you and Amanda on the eve of her Homegoing anniversary. I am grateful that, while this heaviest of burdens will always lay upon us weighing even heavier on these days, our Lord has also given His blessed, blessed hope. May this hope comfort and encourage your hearts till we hold our beloved children in Heaven.

You are in my prayers as you treasure the precious remembrance of Amanda's birth and celebrate her 18th birthday in your heart. What a beautiful young woman she would be! Nevertheless, what a shining star she is now! May our Lord hold you ever so tightly in His everlasting arms and may you know not only His awesome presence but Amanda's as well.

In His Love,
Yolanda Rogers

Thank You for the short note that you posted here and appreciate it very much, its been three months now since she passed and for me its even harder now than when I watched her join our Heavenly Father. There is not a day that passes that she is not in my thoughts and I have trouble sleeping at night. I thought it would get easier over time but it has been just the opposite for me. Her mother and brother are doing real well. I cry from time to time and visit the cemetery as well as write WebPages dedicated to her, it helps some. I often find myself sitting in her room reading the poems that she had written as well as go through her things, often uncovering things that we did not know about her. She was a very private person and kept a lot of things to herself. We recently found her journals and a diary that were good reading and a lot of laughs as well as videos that she had made using the family video camera. It made us laugh, it made us cry.

Thanks Again

Amanda played the Alto Saxophone, the very same one that I played while in High School, she was very proud to play the instrument that dad had played. She enjoyed playing along side of her brother Brandon played the flute.

Amanda was a beautiful girl and seemed very talented from what you had written at cencerkids.org. What instrument did she play? I played in the marching band in middle and high school. I played trumpet and french horn. I am sorry that you guys had to lose such a special individual from your life. To say she's in a better place is true, but kind of dogmatic. I pray that you will experience God's peace in these next few days. Don't be afraid to grieve. God is with you right now, and even though this is very tragic, something good will come out of Amanda's death, I'm sure of it.

Amanda will forever be with us, she brought so much joy to our family, her caring nature, loving heart for everyone and anything around her, she would never harm anyone, I had read some of her letters from her friends and some would find distrust in others, Not Amanda, even if she did, she would never tell them as she was a kind soul and keep it to herself. We know that she keeps a close eye on our home as she still enjoys turning her stereo on in the middle of the night. Some might call that a little spooky, to us, it tells us that she is still here with us. We All Love You Amanda, Always and forever.

Amanda was an amazing young woman. I admire her strength and courage. All of us, family and friends were lucky to have her in our lives. She touched all of us.
Amanda embraced life whole-heartedly. All of us ask Why?
Brandon and I were talking the other day about why was such a wonderful person taken from us? Brandon said- "The way I look at it is that God needed another Angel."
I'm sure all of us agree -God did get another Angel.

I never realized how much Amanda and I had in common other than our September birthdays. Her journals, her writing, her love of making movies.

Amanda will always be in my heart.

I love you Amanda,
Aunt Melissa

Amanda, our beautiful guardian angel, is now looking over all of us. Her smile will last for eternity. Her love for her family, including her animals, will be with those that have loved her forever. Amanda and I only had a short time together but I can still hear her voice. Aunt Deb, I love you. She was the sweetest and most courageous young woman I have ever met. I only wish that we would have had more time and someday we will meet again. She has touch my life. And she will always be in my heart.
Signed, Aunt Deb

Amanda,
Just wanted to stop by and wish you a Merry Christmas. I hope you were able to spend it with your family at home (and your dog!). And if not, I'm sure you have your family close by with you.
Best wishes,

Amanda,
Looks like I'm the first to sign your guestbook. Your dad wrote and shared your website. I'll be checking in frequently to see how you are doing. I see you are from NC and are the proud owner of a new puppy (sorry to hear about the loss of your older dog). We have a three year old dog ourselves and she is pretty special...pretty much has the run of the house (including couch and chairs). Her favorite thing to do is to run through the woods with my oldest daughter (Keri...21 years old) or walk with me to go to the farm (we are dairy farmers...or I should say my husband is as I work off the farm as a nurse in a retirement community). Sorry to hear about what has been going on with you. I do hope you'll be able to spend xmas at home with your family and friends. My family will keep you in our prayers Amanda.
