Hi Heather,
Of course I remember you! In the law department we always say you guys have the toughest job in the county.
I'm so glad you found Owen's caringbridge site; I had no idea that cancer had touched your life in so many ways and I see that we feel the same way about the cancer experience. I love seeing the pictures of your beautiful, healthy daughter. I think as a parent you've had the hardest experience there is on earth, to see your child sick and suffer. Of course you worry about relapse but 10 years of survivorship is a wonderful thing and I'm sure with each year Brianna's chance of staying cancer-free gets even stronger. I'll be praying for your family that this stays true.

I found your CB site on the ALL-Kids webpage and I just want you to know how ENCOURAGING it is to see your daughter doing so great! I need to see more success stories, it seems we get too many of the sad ones.

I knew my son had leukemia because I had a childhood friend who had it. I remember her talking about the pain she had in her legs and how her mother thought it was juvenile arthritis. When my son started complaing, that conversation immediately came back to me. WELL, that friend of mine is doing great, she is 35 years old (she was diagnosed at 7) and she is happily married and has two beautiful children. Hope that encourages YOU!

Thanks for sharing your story and your daughter with all of us.

Hi Heather & Brianna.... you hit the nail on the head.. Terry too... no one can know what it's like... until they go through it... and going to work does urk me..have the same problem where I am... stay home! Our kids immune systems are not back 100% for a while yet... we can bring stuff home and give it to them the same!

Had so much fun at Mom's overnight... missed some of our other mom friends though... think of all of them all the time...and thank God for bringing you all into our lives! Keep strong and know that there are always others out there reading and praying for you all!
Take care and God Bless!!!

Hey fellow cancer mom.. Fear is a word that many don't comprehend.. a slight fever and a rash has many mom's paniking.. what do they KNOW?? I see people whining and complaining of such insignifacant things.. it makes me want to scream. I get scared and angry just like you. A color or smell throws you back to the moment of diagnosis. People say oh.. I think I have pneumonia.. which I reply..why the hell are you at work.. You Can Die From it .. take it from personal experience.. I get tired of the attitude that it can't happen to me or it doesn't concern us.. People with happy healthy lives take them for granted and it makes me want to weep. Good and bad have come from my son's nightmare. Mostly bad but the good are really good.. I never look at a butterfly or the color purple without thinking of Britt. I kiss my son and love him way more than most mothers should. I notice ever time the sun shines..the snow on the trees, the smell of the air, that I am awake and alive and so are the people I love.. So I see and know exactly why you get so angry.. enough is enough.. and we can scream and throw tantrums all day long and someone will walk by and roll there eyes at us and give us a label.. sad isn't it? Thank God Bri is so far in remission.. Tony said to me and Amy once.. I am in remission.. I am cured from cancer and we just looked at each other because of our fears..but would any one in their right mind look at him and say any different..I love his attitude and thank God for it.. Praying for Andrew, Zack and Heather too..

Hello H & B,

Yes, I still check out your site. I'm so busy with so many newly diagnosed people that I never seem to have enough time in a day to write you all. There isn't a day gone by that I don't think of all of you and hope you are well. I pray for all of you every single day. And I pray for my sanity seeing all the ugliness of cancer hell. Somebody told me recently that I should just walk away. I said "Are you kidding?!? Do you know how many amazing, wonderful, inspirational people I have met through this cancer hell?" I wish cancer never existed, but as long as it does, I want you to know that you all give me the strength to continue. I just wanted you to know that I do keep tabs on you and pray every day for you. Keep smiling and know many people care.

B is growing up so fast.. it seemed the minute Tony got his license he was officially grown up! It's so hard to let go.. he thinks so too. He is moved out of the house and tries not to miss home too much. We spent the last 3 and half years glued together because of cancer.. it was a time that I will hate and cherish because I am so much closer to my son than most mom's are with their teenage sons. So when he left for school he did say he is trying to break our bond slowly. It's so hard not to want to stay at home when he does come home from college. Life is scarey and amazing.. Our kids are so much stronger than they were before cancer.,, Mentally more than physically. B is so smart! Good for her on the college course credits.. I will keep your dad in my prayers.. it's obvious where you all get your strength and character from! He's such a nice guy.. glad to have met him even though he's a die hard Joannie Mahoney and Yankee fan! lol lol

HELP ST. JUDE BY CREATING A PEPPER AT CHILI'S TO FIGHT CHILDHOOD CANCER!!!!

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Chili’s Grill & Bar® announced the kick-off of their fifth annual Create-A-Pepper to Fight Childhood Cancer campaign. Now through September 30, Chili’s restaurants around the country and, for the first time, in Puerto Rico, are marking National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month by inviting people to get creative and raise funds to help St. Jude find cures and save children with cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases.
Guests at participating Chili’s restaurants can contribute to St. Jude in multiple ways:

- Make a donation to St. Jude and receive a Create-A-Pepper chili pepper coloring sheet designed for display at restaurants during the month.

- Purchase Create-A-Pepper T-shirts that can be customized with permanent marker.

- Buy a customized Create-A-Pepper key that can be cut for use at home or the office.

- Eat at Chili’s on Monday, Sept. 29, when Chili’s will donate 100 percent of profits from participating restaurant sales to St. Jude.

Visit www.createapepper.com and to make an online donation.

Hi Heather,
I was brought to your site from Mira Brouwer's site. I was reading your story and some entries smiling. My son was diagnosed with ALL (pre-B) at 2 1/2 years of age in March. He is still in active treatment and has been doing pretty well, considering. It warms my heart to read your daughter's success. It gives me so much hope. Thank you for your story. I wish you continued successes everyday.
All the best,

Oh Heather..I grew up in a house with only girls! I prayed for boys while my husband wished for at least one girl.. He would be in jail right now if we had one.lol lol lol it's tough to want to be her friend but in the long run she will be thankful.. Why would you want anyone to see what you look like in the morning?? lol I guess they don't sleep at those sleep overs?? Who would want your young kids to "party" all night?? Brianna your mom trusts you..it's just that you may be too young.. when you go to college you can do all that stuff. I can remember having a girls sleep over and alot of my friends were not allowed to stay over because their parents didn't know my mom and dad and no boys were even allowed. If you ask Tony he wouldn't want to go to a co-ed sleep over. He is old fashioned I guess.. he went to a football game recently and complained that the girls tags on their shirts were bigger than their shirts! lol

Hi, Brianna!

Tell your Mom thanks for signing Mamie's guestbook - unless you're still not talking to her, in which case you can point to this and she can read it herself.

I understand your position - I had the same problem a while back. It's called "being a teenager who has parents." Both parts will pass. Hopefully the being a teenager part a long, long time before the having parents part.

Hope things continue going well in school and swimming.

Hi Heather, Just responding on the Light the Night walk... we were not covered in the news or papers!!!! What happened? Cytex sp? sponsored most of it last year.. was it because a radio station was there this year? NO POLICE excort!!!! But Brittany Spears among many of our disgusting teen roll models was covered on the local news! Unbelievable.. My husband and I thought we were pretty "hip" but the generation gap is clearly showing its colors in our house! lol Tony and I went to the homecoming football game in Chittenango and I never noticed but Tony was having a fit with the clothes his female classmates were wearing.. or should I say weren't wearing. It was 80 plus degrees and he said," Mom! That girl's tag in her shirt is bigger than her shirt!" and he wasn't laughing.. so to all the teens out there .. boys like you covered up! lol lol lol but really the worlds getting more screwed up as we speak! I loved the email you sent me on the 7 wonders of the world.. it sums up my feelings! Hugs oooh and Brianna.. you probably will be mad at me for saying this... but you will thank your mother when you grow up!

Hi Heather and Brianna.. Happy belated 15th birthday! The best advice I can give you on a co-ed party and how to occupy them- being a mom of a 17 year old son- it's simple! CHAIN THE GUYS TO THE WALL ON ONE SIDE OF THE ROOM AND CHAIN THE GIRLS TO THE OTHER SIDE! set up an altar in the middle and pray to God for your sanity.. lol lol lol lol if that doesn't work hand out tranquillizers and take a heavy dose of peptobismal. I wish I could be a fly on the wall of that party and NO I am not volunteering to help out! lol lol lol

Hey Heather.... I finally am able to get on your website... after numerous tries... must be I can't spell or something.. it always told me website not found!!! Looks like everything is going well with you all... Dr. Souid told Travis he needs to be volunteering in our local hospital also... he wants to go into oncology and hopes to go to Binghamton in the Fall of 2008 - can't believe he will graduate next June. Can't wait to see you all at the Grosso's this weekend.. I've been racking my brain to try and figure out what else to bring besides sausage & peppers...... something for dessert for sure !!! Take care and thanks for keeping in touch with email... aren't those things Sue sends us hysterical?!!! Love & Hugs to you and yours!!! The Gage's

Hi, just checking in with you. I look forward to seeing you guys at the bash. I had that aweful problem with my yard last year, it is probably moles and to get rid of them is to get rid of their food source - bugs and grubs under the grass. When you get rid of them (insectacide spread to the lawn), then the moles should leave too. Good luck. See you soon - xxxooo

That is such a treasure find... I brought Tony to his prom tonight.. as I was getting the flowers at the shop .. I teared up!!!!! I cried as I handed them over and he said.." Awe, Mom you're not crying, are you?" I said," Yup!" and he hugged me and I said," There was a day that I didn't think this would ever happen." He said," Don't give up on me now." and teared right up with me as we hugged. He looked sooo handsome... He's my baby! and my other baby is going to California after college graduation on Sunday.. I will be a chocolate mess! lol hugs to you and Brianna..

Your journal entry was so funny and sweet. I have been warned about having a girl and the moody behaviors - then to add steroids on top - augh. I would have also framed that letter and treasure it every day. My mom still reminds me when I told her that I loved her so much that I would always stay with her and never grow up and get married. Although circumstances change, the love is always there. Love - Natalie

Hi Heather, I didn't see it today...Tony and I fight all the time.. we sometimes love and smother each other too much.. it's hard being a teenager let alone dealing with all the grown up problems of losing friends.. etc.. to Breanna .. you are a beautiful, bright and awesome young lady..I see a sunlight in you everytime I look at you.. it's hard being your age and to be in a new school is tough to. Most kids your age have no idea what the true meaning of life is and you do..you have a different beat to your own drum .. please just hug your mom when both of you step over the line.. I told Tony to just reach out and hug me.. works most times.. but remember you both have been through so much and there is nothing in the world that would change that.. you both have a special bond that you may not see.. many people envy that... love and hugs T

Hi Heather and Brianna...it was so nice to have a chance to actually sit down and chat with you two. I know you were both at the summer party...but things go so fast and you want to get to see and chat with everyone..and the next thing you know..people are leaving..more coming...more going! To make a long story short.... we enjoyed you both very much!! And yes...we all understand cancer talk and just want you to know that you both are thought of frequently...you just don't know it. When this all came down for our family...it was a nightmare too...and I can tell you that it's all in your attitude and your thoughts! How quickly things can change with an uplifting attitude. Never Ever let anyone tell you that you cannot do something (except that guys can't have babies - however I'd love to witness that one)(LOL on that)it's how we made it through our tough times. Just look to the Lord every single day.. and try to stay away from any negativity sent your way. You will overcome the trials and don't leave any doubt in the back of your mind - as this is a good way for the devil to do his work - you won't and will not allow it! Out with the bad and In with the Good Lord doing everything He can in his power to hold and keep you in good health Brianna! That's a prayer to say every single day...even more than once too if you want.

We had such a great time yesterday...we look forward to this "treat" every year! Keep smiling and keep your chin up because You Are Just as Special As The Rest Of These Kids! Love & Hugs to you both!!!

Hi .. it's been forever since I signed your guest book! I do apologize.. I frequently come and wait for the updates and I had to re read everything because I missed alot the first time because of the tears! So many of the kids are completing their treatments and because Tony is older and is a male his maintenance won't end until July of 2008. It seems like it never ends! He is afraid to go away to school because he will have to make frequent trips back home during the first year ... after 8 yrs you still have to be checked and I know the feeling of holding your breath until the results come in.. everytime I go into the hospital it throws me back to that first day of diagnosis and I can't believe I didn't faint on the spot... I almost did 3 days later when I was coming back up to take over another shift when Tony was in for so long...Our kids are amazing.. I don't know if I could handle it when I was 14. It's changed me in good and bad ways.. mainly I am a NAG now lol lol but I stop and look at everything now. It means more.. God bless Brianna!!!!!!!!! take care...Heather

Hi, Just stopping by as Peter and Brianna are always in my thoughts .. all the kids that have had cancer are always in my thoughts.. I had so much fun at the Grosso party because for the entire day I didn't have to think about CANCER! We all have lived by that motto.. Take one day, then break it down all the way to minutes if you have to!.. It was so wonderful looking at all those kids have fun that day.. I am sorry that I didn't even really talk to any of the parents! I couldn't get enough of the kids! They never stopped and I think I laughed all day long at them! Take care .. T

Hip hop, hippety hop
My “Easter Bunny” went off to the shop,
He bought me an egg and lots of chocs
And packed them into a cardboard box.
Then he wrapped it with paper and shiny string
It really was such a pretty thing.
Disaster struck when I opened the door-
He slid across the parquet floor,
He went round the corner and past the stairs
And finished up in a pile of chairs.
Of the Easter goodies not a trace,
he’d thrown them into my fireplace!
So a warning before you go opening doors
Make sure your “Bunny” has non-slip paws!

Happy Easter

With lots of love,

Everyone at Post Pals

Dear Heather,

What a wonderful Christmas present to hear from you. I am glad you and Brianna are doing well and you do seem to be a woman on a mission.

Is there anything we can do to help your Dad or you and your family? I am so appreciative all you and your family have done for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the hope you have brought to others. Have a wonderful holiday.

Hi, I just happened to click on your webpage as I was viewing the one made for two of my friends who are living with your disease.. I want to tell you how big of an inspiration you are to the people around you .. even people you don't know, like myself. Two of my very best friends are now living with the disease which you are also dealing with.. they are two of the strongest people I know, and I admire them so greatly becuase of their bravery and fortitude in facing their disease. I also admire you for staying strong in your battle, and I want to extend my prayers and the prayers of my high school community and friends to you and your family. We are all praying for a miracle. Hang in there girl!

Hi Heather and Brianna! I apologize, Heather, for never getting back to you when you were doing the Leukemia/Lymphoma races. Please forgive me for that! I just found Brianna's website for the first time- great to hear that she is doing so well!

Jonathan and I are doing okay. After Timmy went to live in Heaven, I went back to work, then to school, then got a degree in chemistry, then started medical school in August of 2003. I am almost done with my second year (last final tomorrow!) and in July I'll start doing hospital rotations. Maybe I'll see you up there some time! I enjoy med school a lot, and really feel comfortable in the hospital atmosphere - probably because I used to live in the hospital - ha-ha!

God bless you both - e-mail me at galvank@upstate.edu

Hey Brianna and mom,
I am soooo embarrassed that it has been so long since I've signed in! I really do apologize! So sorry to hear Brianna broke her wrist and school hasn't been going as well since the last time I checked, but I hope she is doing much better! My gosh, I am going to make darn sure she is included every night in my prayers for her continued good health! Having a 19 year old daughter myself, I remember the early teen (and pre-teen) years clearly! Even without the added punch of steroids, that age is soooo rough with teen girls! But, we got through it and I can tell you it certainly gets better when they hit 18! Seems everyone I talked to had similar stories so I knew she was on a normal track during her teens! (It is why us moms have an increase in gray hairs during that period!).
God bless and I promise to stop by sooner!

A PRAYER FOR CHRISTMAS

God Give Us eyes this Christmas
To see the Christmas Star.
And give us ears to hear the song
of angels from afar

And, with our eyes and ears attuned
for a message from above,
Let "Christmas Angels" speak to us
of hope and faith and love

Hope to light our pathway
When the way ahead is dark,
Hope to sing through stormy days,
with the sweetness of the lark

Faith to trust in things unseen
and know beyond all seeing
That it is in our Fathers love
We live and have our being

And love to break down barriers
of color, race and creed,
Love to see and understand
and help all those in need.

Lord, bless those we love this Christmas Day,be they near or far away Bless those good friends who mean so much and those with whom we're out of touch. We bring them all to You in prayer, and ask You to keep them in Your care.

Please know that you are thought of, in a very special way, not just this beautiful season but every day.

Hello, i was watching a couple of new records being set at the Olympics today, so thought i would look up some slightly stranger ones instead of some jokes.

Here's a couple;

Most spoons balanced on the face
Tim Johnston (USA) (b. 1 January 1992), was able to balance on his face (one on each ear, two on each cheek, three on his chin, two on his lips, one on his nose and three on his forehead) and balance them for 30 seconds at on May 28, 2004.

British pub landlord Garry Turner clipped 153 ordinary wooden clothes pegs on his face at the WH Smith bookshop in York, Yorkshire, UK, on September 28, 2002

12 years old Brianna!!! OMG where has the time gone. Well, that's actually a stupid question now, my kids are all older as well, but...OMG she's 12 now!!! You always feel so much older when it is someone else's child aging. You tend to not notice it so much in your own kids 'cause you see them every day. Today, I saw a boy that I use to teach. He was 13 at the time and was a real handful (he has Down's Syndrome and was very stubborn - or dare I say "lazy"). He is now 30 friggin' years old!!!!! I'm only 36... OMG... I'm 36! When the heck did that happen. Ok, ignore my insanity and just take out the HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRIANNA from this whole line of incoherent thoughts.

Brianna, I absolutely love your picture. I can't believe how much you've grown. Are you ready to babysit yet? Congrats on the five year remission. I'm with you Heather- five years out of treatment. Funny how you probably can remember New Years Eve that night so vividly and yet can't remember what happened yesterday. That's how I am. Take care and Brianna, I hope you're having a wonderful school year. Geralyn

I remember coming to work after the New Year five years ago and finding out that Brianna, Sue's little granddaughter, had been diagnosed. It was a chilling and frightening day even for me, a total outsider at the time.
So much changed - what I felt was the heartache of watching what had to happen and knowing it was nothing compared to what you were going through: the fear, the not knowing, the difficult treatments, the struggles for the best decisions about treatment, the so-sharp learning curve about the disease and possible treatments and the day after week after month after month of it all. What I could see was only a tiny bit, but it took enormous courage, faith and strength for all of you to get to today. Watching and caring, I grew to love and admire all of you and continue to pray for you.
Brianna, your picture is lovely, as are you. You've grown up so much even since I last saw you in the summer! You and Mom and Grandma are special women in my book.
By the way, I'd hire you any time to be my helper, although you'll have to have better office behavior than your mom! Grandma will give you good guidance.
Love,
Randy

Dear Heather, It is amazing that you should ponder the 5 year question. When we went for our 2year OT visit I asked the doctor about milestones and the 5 years. She gave me the same answers about various timelines. I do remember on the day of Claire's diagnosis that the doctor who gave us the news said their intention was to CURE Claire. I have not heard the word uttered by a doctor since, but I take hope from the fact that I at least heard it once. We send prayers to you for a great 2004. Brianna is a lovely girl and you are both brave and strong. Lynne

5 yr. is a long time in the eyes of a child - even longer for parents and family when that child has cancer. Thinking back to that time, I could only think in minutes or an hour at a time- no long term plans, dreams or hopes. While I tried not to think beyond what was going on immediately, there was always "what if?" in the back of my mind. I decided to put all my fears in God's hands and I thank God every day for watching over Brianna. I love you "B". Grammy

Dear Heather and Brianna, Your entry about shots made me smile. Conner and Claire both were very sneaky about trying to get out of their flu shots. Unlike most kids they did not run and scream, every time I turned my back to sign a paper or answer a question from the nurse they would just quietly walk out of the room and down the hall towards the exit. Lucky for me everyone at the peds office knows them and kept returning them. I am a baby too when it comes to shots, the doctor laughed at me when I asked for freezee spray when I got my flu shots. Just never outgrew my fear of needles. Hope your holidays are filled with family and joy and peace. Lynne

Heather, I am just having a major problem accepting that your daughter is now in MIDDLE SCHOOL!!!! Amazing. I will be at the conference as well and have talked Joshua's spec. ed teacher to attend also. It is great that you are being proactive for Brianna's needs. I just placed a call to Nan Songer this week to push up Joshua's Neuropshych testing because he is also starting to have the "snowball" effect.
I also can relate to the clinic situation. I am still waiting on Joshua's growth hormone results. It is very frustrating and when you call they make you feel like you are bothering them. Hang in there! Give me a call if you just want to chat. Number is still on the back of the old newsletters. LOL

Checking in on Brianna and thrilled that she has just one more year to go to be considered cured! That is awesome! I pray this year goes smoothly and she continues to do so well. Sorry about your dad. I hope he has found a match. You are right, registering to be a donor is relatively easy. I hope I get my nerve up soon to register myself. It is something I have been thinking about. God Bless all of you, your friends, and relatives.

Hi Brianna!
I found your website from another I was at and was so surprised when I saw you live in Syracuse! I grew up there and my parents and the rest of my family still live there. I live in Rochester, NY now and my 6 year old daughter, Lindsay, was just diagnosed withh ALL on 3/8/02. She is doing really well, but it's so tough some times as I'm sure you know. I'm so glad to see how well you are doing and am saying lots of prayers that you have a very long, happy, healthy life!

Hi Brianna! Its Tonya signing in from SLC Utah! Hey is it freezing out there at your house? I hear alot of the country is getting alot of cold weather, but not us. You would think living in Utah we would get alot of cold and snow, but not this year. It has been in the high 40's and we haven't even had enough snow to shovel. I am so glad I got to Adopt you, it will be fun to keep in touch. I am so glad you are doing good. Hope you have a great day. If you would ever like to email my daughter Amanda, I am sure she would like that. She is 10 now , it would be nice to have her know your situation turned out good, and now you are healthy. Take care.

Brianna, It is wonderful that you are feeling great! Do you like all the snow? We live in Minnesota, and we have just a dusting! Today it was 15 degrees below zero, with 35 below wind chill! We aren't use to this! Most of our winter has been in the 20's! Maybe you could send a little more snow our way! Take care and God bless you and your family.

Dear Heather and Brianna, I am sure you are sick of the cold. We are tired of all the snow here as well. I too wait for the dread to pass, but with the spring and the warm weather I seem to always find new strength. The kids keep reminding me that the days are getting longer and that today we are one day closer to swimming in the pool. People ask me why I volunteer so much at the LLS and I often say that although I can not change what happened to Claire every penny that gets raised puts us one step closer to an end to this disease. I hope today brings you a little sunshine and a smile. Lynne

Dear Heather and Brianna,
Thank you, thank you, thank you, for participating in the marathon. I can't even begin to fathom running that long. My body does not like to run. I worked in DC for 8 years and ran on the mall (between Capitol and W. Monument) during my lunch hours, and the most I ever worked up to was 2 miles! I'm in awe of you, doing all that running, and raising all that money. I hope you pampered yourself afterwards, and I'm glad that the sniper issue was over by then. Keep on running and thanks again for doing it! I hope Brianna has a Happy Halloween, best wishes, Sue F. from ALL list

Hi, Heather. I'm glad that Brianna is doing well. My daughter, Nettie, is also on POG 9605, dx'd on 12/24/00. I'm not sure what has been changed in the protocol but I believe there used to be TIT's on it. She has tolerated the chemo well as far as immediate side-effects. But with two spinals, 2 doses on vinc. and one pred. pulse to go, I see it is accumulating and hits her harder each time. She will be OT in July '03. What can I expect? How is Brianna doing OT? - her physical strength, good coloring, etc. Nettie will be 4 next month and on chemo for half her life. It's getting tougher each day for me to see her pale and still losing hair, tired, etc. We have many NY ties as my husband is from the Corning area and we lived in Watertown when our son was born. Congratulations on the marathons. It's great what you're doing.

Hi Heather
Just a quick note to see how your doing for the MC Marathon. We are all ready to go and looking forward to it so much. Erin is having some second thoughts about finishing but I told her to do the best she can that's all anyone expects. People in our home town have given her so much support. It has been such a healing summer. Greg and Ty will never be forgotten. Hopefully the $6000 that we have raised will help fine the cure and save some people from losing the ones closest to our hearts, our children. We will be staying at the Key Bridge Marriott in Arlington. Hope to see you when we get down there if not good luck on your run.

You're really a great mom and an inspiration! It's terrible to hear how kids suffer because of these cancers and treatments. It truly breaks my heart!! I know that I want to help out in any way I can! I'm glad to hear you're enjoying 5th grade Brianna. Just think, next year you'll be in middle school (for us old folks that would be junior high school....hee hee). Sending love and prayers from NC!

Hi Heather
First a great big Yea! So glad Brainna is doing so great. I was just rambling around the web sites to see how all or little ones were doing and then checked you out to see how your fundraising was doing for the marathon in Washington. Erin was home this weekend and send in $1500 for the race. We have received over $400 this week since she has gone back. People are so great from our small communtiy. Tuesday we are holding a chicken BBQ with the help of our local fire department and our local resturant, in the memory of Greg and Tyler. Greg was a member of the fire department. Hopefully this will put Erin over the top and hopefully a lot more. As for the race itself Erin a little nervous to about running but said she will finish if it kills her. Just think maybe you two can bring up the end :0). Our family is planning on being in Washington also so maybe we can meet up. Vicki said something about going also but time will tell, she's got to take one day at a time. We love her very much but all we can do now is be there for her. We have found that no one forgets and that is the most important part. It's been two years since we loss Greg 7/9/00, at the age of 32, from Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. It would make me proud if you could add him to your banner. You know it doesn't matter how old they are they are a part of you and when they die a part of you goes with them. No one knows only if you have gone through it. No One should have to loss thier child or watch them suffer so. LET'S GET OUT THERE AND FIGHT FOR A CURE.
Good Luck and keep running
Love
Sharon

It is great to hear your little one is doing so well. My daughter was dx 5/15/01 (the day before her third birthday) with t-cell lymphoma. Her birthday gift was her first dose of chemo. Anyway, last month, we finally got a clear CT picture. A friend (leukemia mom) sent me your site mentioning the upcoming run. I would like to add my daughter's name if you still have room. Her name is Gabrielle. We are in Mississippi and go to Alabama for treatments. I also have a friend whose daughter, Meghan, has relapsed for the third time. I don't know her initial dx date, but she has rhabdomysarcoma. If you could add her name too I would be grateful. Thanks. Sheri

Dear Heather and Brianna,
Congratulations on your one year off treatment! I just read your entry in the PED-ONC digest and thought I'd sign your guestbook rather than send you an email. My grandson, Connor, who is 3 will be off treatment one year on September 27! He was diagnosed with AML leukemia just after his 2nd birthday in March 2001. We would be so honored to have you wear his name on your gold ribbon for the Rock n ROll marathon. Thanks for all you are doing to raise cancer awareness. And you're absolutely right - no one can really appreciate the little joys of everyday living until you become the parent (or grandparent) of a cancer kid. Stay healthy, Brianna, and enjoy being 10!!

You are right there are no words for what each day brings and each set of labs or visit to the onc. does to all of us emotionally. Be strong and know that you can talk to the kids while you run! Hi Heather & Brianna
Erin called this morning and told me about your website. She seemed excited that she found someone else running in the marathon. I know that she will be fine for she will have two special angels running with her. It's so great to hear that there has been some sucess in the fight against these terrible diseases. Helping Erin raise the money for the race has helped our whole family and given us a purpose. Hopefully we can help find the cure and children do not have suffer anymore. Good luck on your race and maybe we wil see you in Washington, we will be there cheering Erin on.

Hey there! Congratulations!!!! I am so happy to see that you have your site up and running. It wasn't that hard was it! I will be sure to stop by on a regular basis to see what's been happening in your neck of the woods.
Take care and God Bless.

Hi Brianna!

I love your web page. My daughter Julia finished treatment for t-cell ALL back in January and is doing great. She's 10 years old, but was just about your age when she was diagnosed.
I hope you had fun at Ava's party!
