Dear Laura and Steve,
Hope you are all doing well? How did it go with Devon's teeth, hope they fused ok? It was great to see you last summer in Paris.
Take care,
Love Angela

So excited to see a great update (other than the teeth, of course). We check in often and realize that long periods between updates have a very good meaning. We hope that you continue to appreciate all your time together and thank you for making us appreciate all of our time together.
I am teaching 5th through 8th grade math and have been for several years. It is such an important time for young people, it is great to know that you are experiencing all of that with Devon.
You guys are a great family.

Hello Laura and Steve,

I'm delighted to hear that the optic nerve swelling went down and that the doctor is pretty sure of the cause. Good luck with your decision making over the growth hormone, I'll be thinking of you and pray that all goes well for Devon.
Have a great time in Italy and Venice, wish you were coming to see us! We are sad to leave our beautiful country house but once again don't have much choice with Timken, we have to move. We have found a house in the Colmar area, at Labaroche. It is a new house, 700 meters up a mountain, made of wood. It doesn't have the character that our house here has and it's smaller and no pool!!! On the positive side it's a nice house and a beautiful and interesting area to live! When I visited there I noticed many people speaking German so I can practise my German again!

Take care, have a great summer,
love Angela

Dear Laura and Steve,
I'm sorry to hear you had such a scare, how awful for you all and poor Devon having such a bad headache. I'm so glad that the tests showed things to be normal, so it was probably the side effect of growth hormones, what a pity.

Good luck with the continuation of growth hormones, (is continuation an English word? I get a bit confused now with languages!) We have sold our house here in centre of France and will be moving to Alsace (Colmar, near Strasbourg) around the end of August. I'll send you our address when we know it!
Take care, love Angela All my best wishes for Devon

Dear Laura and Steve
Glad to hear that you all had such fun at Christmas time, good for you! We did raclette on Christmas eve this year, it's fun! We bought a thing where you melt chocolate in a centre dish, with a candle under it and dip fresh fruit in it! That's very good too!
Good luck with Devon's treatment, I will be praying for Devon's continued good health, bless him.
Happy new year, good health and good luck to all of your family.
take care,

Lots of love

Dear Laura and Steve,
Glad to hear that things are going well, it sounds as though you are having great fun with your boys! It's great that they are so into sports, so good for them. How sweet that Steve woke Devon up to tell him the game result, sounds as though they have a wonderful relationship. I just looked at the photo's again, the boys have such beautiful great big eyes, they are gorgeous!
Good luck with the tests, God bless you and guide you in your decision making.
Take care,
Love Angela

It's very reassuring to hear that your son is doing so well...My son was diagnosed this past May with Stage III Neuroblastoma. He's 17 months old right now..it's incredible how strong children are.

I'm so glad to see that a child with neuroblastoma is doing so well years after treatment. My son was just diagnosed at 5 1/2 months of age in March. He has one more chemotherapy left to go and then he goes for testing as we are praying his cancer is gone. He was diagnosed in stage IV. Very scary for first time parents.

Dear Laura and Steve,
Glad to hear that you had a great summer, your holidays with Steve family and camp sunshine both sounded great!
We didn't do anything except go and look around Colmar (Alsace, near Strasbourg) for a couple of days as we may be moving again, not sure yet! My sister in law and husband usually visit us but they didn't as he is having very strong chemo at the moment to try and beat his bladder cancer. He's been fighting it for a while now they have to give very strong treatment.

I pray for a good outcome for Devon with the growth hormone treatment with no side effects. How lovely that the boys were eager to get back to school! A moment like that with Darren's smile as he left on the bus is one of the memories you will treasure! I hope he was still smiling when he came home!

Caro is almost finished with her thesis, she is looking for work at the same time. She has a 5 day job to do translating a web site (for an agency) from French to English (for people seeking dates!) that should be fun and she gets paid for it!
Steve still has one more year to go in Brussels, he did well last year, passed with distinction!

Take care, good luck with the medical appointments, we'll be thinking of you.
Lots of love
Angela

Hi Guys!
Just finished some unpacking and repacking and found the card you gave me. It was so great to read about Devon and see that everything seems to be going well.
I didn't know Steve rides in the PMC? I guess my mom already told you that that's where my dad was at the beginning of the week :)
Hope you all had a good and safe trip back. Tell the boys I say hi, I got some cute pictures back today & I miss them already.
Take care.

Dear Laura and Steve,
Hope you are all ok and that Steve is enjoying the new job. Since you said about not leaving the dryer on, I always think of you now when I'm about to go out or to bed and leave the dryer on and I put it off before I go! I guess it is because people don't empty the filter and it gets clogged up with lint that it sets on fire?
Good luck for the upcoming medical appointments with Devon at the end of June, I'm thinking of you and praying that all will be good, that you can make the right decisions concerning Devon's treatment. Hope you have a great summer!
Take care,
Lots of love

Dear Laura and Steve,
Have a great holiday, I hope you enjoy it and pray that you manage to reach the right decision concerning Devon and the growth hormones without too much worry. So sorry that he has so many health issues to deal with. It's wonderful that you have passed the five year out mark, I hope and pray that Devon's health will continue to improve.

Steve and Caro are fine, both working hard, they have both just had exams, they think they went ok but as you know, you can never tell until you get the results!

Good luck for Steve with the interviews, we hope that he finds a new company that he will enjoy working for.
Keep in touch, if you move!!
Take care,
Lots of love

Dear Laura and Steve,
I'm so happy to hear that you are all well and doing fine (I was starting to worry about you as it has been a while!) hope I don't sound like somebody's nagging mum!! It's great that the boy's both enjoy school so much. I always found a full school day rather long for little ones, adding on a 45 minute trip each way would make it extremely long! Our kid's had that in high school, and even when they were teenagers I thought the days were far too long, they were out of the house for 11 hours and were not often in the best of moods when they got home! I used to ferry them back and forth sometimes to save them from such a long day. I can't believe that they are 22 now!! And Pete is 60! It is ten years since that party we had for Pete's birthday in Künsebeck, you remember? It seems so long ago now, we haven't seen you for years now, it would be so nice to see you again and meet your kids!

I'm so glad that Devon is doing well health wise, pity about the teeth but the main thing is that he is doing fine! I pray that he stays that way, he sounds like a great little man to me.
I hope Steve has a good trip and safe journey.
Take care,
Love Angela and family

Dear Laura and Steve,
It was good to read your update and see that you are all well and had a nice summer. The photo's are lovely. I'm really happy that Devon is doing so well health wise, that is such good news!

We are ok, Steve still in Brussels and Caro is just about to start her final year of education, her Masters 2, she will be at Angers as Tours don't offer the translation Masters that she is doing, we are moving her in next weekend.
Take care,
Love Angela

Hello everyone! How nice to see you all!! What beautiful summer pic's! We think of you all the time, and always you are in our prayers. We are doing well, and are enjoying the hectic school days that make us crazy, but are so happy that we are able to be in this place. Amanda has started 1st grade and is getting used to the long days. Her brothers are in 4th and 6th!! Your right they do grow up way way too fast!! Did you guys end up in NC this summer? We were thinking about you and the move, sadly I might add. Can we have your new address and email...every time I try to email you, it comes back returned. It is probably user error, but just in case, if you dont mind sending it to us again. Tell Steve that Bill says hello, and Devon that Amanda says hi!. Take care, All our love, Cathy, Bill, Trevor, Ryan & Amanda

Hi Sundquists!
Glad to hear that your vacation was so wonderful! It must be beautiful country. And who wouldn't want to be expected to take a siesta each day.
I am glad that Steve took his new job, it gives me the chance to work with him once again, if even just from a distance.
Take care and happy belated birthday to each of the boys!
