Madelyn Caringbridge offers these wonderful pages completely free of charge to patients and their families. The money that pays for these pages comes from generous donations from wonderful people like you. That makes the memory and space that is taken up on their system very valuable. Because of that I will be closing this page in the next few days.
Thank you very much for the love you have shown for my niece. Please continue to keep her in your prayers along with all of the other children with pages on Caringbridge.
Journal
Wednesday, March 16, 2005 1:23 PM CST Madelyn has started her radiation treatments and so far she is doing great with the treatments. She is staying pretty tired but that is to be expected with her being put to sleep everyday. It takes her most of the day to come out of that sleepy stage. The radiation isn’t supposed to make her hair fall out.
We are hoping to have a big Easter dinner and egg hunt. The radiation doctors are not expecting too many side effects. Neal said that it takes much longer to put her to sleep and position her in her mold than it takes to actually administer the radiation dose. He said it takes about ten minutes. The radiation is directed at the tumor remains in her abdomen. They are also doing the bones around each of Madelyn’s eyes. The radiation can cause the bones to not grow so to keep it symmetrical they do both eyes.
