Hi Lauren! So glad to hear you are doing great! (Thanks for the update Chasity!!) I can't believe Maddie is 4 already, where does the time go? It's flown by considering how much Lauren has grown since I last saw her. Hi Chasity!
It's Rene', I was one of the nurses at the St. Jude clinic in JC when Lauren was newly diagnosed. I can't believe how beautiful & grown up she is now! Last time I saw her was just after the baby was born.
I am so so happy to see her doing well and thriving beautifully! Miracles do happen and Lauren is living proof of that.

I've moved from TN and am now in Virginia Beach! So far I like it. I would love to hear from you sometime and look forward to reading even more good reports on Lauren. Please tell your mother I said hello. I miss seeing all of your smiling faces and couldn't be more thrilled to hear she's doing so beautifully!!

Hello lauren, you don't know me but I found your webpage accidently. I was looking up another girl with your name and came to your page. I started to read it and was amazed at what I read. I have a 15 year old daughter that was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma in Oct. 2003 and her name is Chassity. So I just wanted to write you and tell you that we have a few things in common. Its a good feeling to know that your doing good. Chassity has had several rounds of chemo and 3 surgeries too. We will be going to stem cell transplant next month then radiation and antibodies. Hi Collins' family - Derek just saw Lauren's picture on her site and said "hey, that's Lauren! - is she doing good?" :> I told him she's doing fine. Derek and I made it home despite the snow in Boston. His brain MRI was clear, but we're still waiting to hear the results of his spine MRI. It's great news to hear Lauren's tests are going well. I had originally planned to visit as many caringbridge sites as possible, and leave some encouraging words, prior to my daughters passing. Unfortunately her passing came sooner than we had expected, but longer than any of her doctors expected.

Another angel takes flight.

My daughter Pam had a brain tumor and was fighting the fight since November 4th, 2002, after the birth of her daughter (Casey Morgan). My youngest daughter, Karen, set up a caringbridge website for Pam. Karen's friends mother shared a prayer with us, that I would like to share with you and Lauren. It's called DON'T QUIT:
Don't Quit -
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, When the road you're trudging seems all uphill, When the funds are low and the debts are high, and you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit - Rest if you must, but do not quit. Life is queer with its twists and turns, As every one of us sometimes learns, And many a fellow turns about, When he might have won had he stuck it out. Don't give up though the pace seems slow - You may succeed with another blow. Often the goal is nearer than it seems to a faint and faltering man; Often the struggler has given up when he might have captured the victor's cup. And he learned too late when the night came down, How close he was to the golden crown. Success is failure turned inside out - The silver tint of the clouds of doubt, And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems afar, So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit, It's when things seem worst that you mustn’t quit.(Just call on Jesus).

I would also like to share a saying that was on the card my wife Diane picked out, and we bought for Pam:

Hey guys! Way to go Lauren, you are such a big girl now. I'm sure mom and dad are very proud of you, that is always quite an accomplishment. Bailey was always so stubborn when it came to potty training, but she did it when she was ready, and never had any accidents after that. We are all hanging in there. Bailey had surgery on Tuesday, it was pretty much an all day deal. We were back to Ronald McDonald's on Friday. She has not bounced back near as well as the first surgery she had, but she is doing better each day. We meet with her brain tumor doctor at St. Judes on Tuesday morning to find out what we do from here. We have alot of tough decisions to make in the next few days, we just hope and pray that God will lead us in the right direction. Please tell all of your family hello for us, your mom was always so nice to keep us informed on Lauren, and she always asked about Bailey. Take Care, and we might see you the end of October.
