**************************** On January 8, 2001, Mom (Grandma Pat) finally told my sister she was having vision problems. An eye appointment was scheduled for Tuesday (1/9/01). Mom's eyes were fine. However, she did not have vision left of center in either eye. An MRI was scheduled for Wednesday. Thursday morning we met with the surgeon. Thursday afternoon mom was admitted to the hospital and Friday morning at 10:30am she was operated on.
The surgery went well. 90% of the tumor was removed. The final diagnosis was glioblastoma. With this type of tumor they are never able to get 100%.
Mom has undergone 6 weeks of radiation. She finished that on Friday, April 6, 2001. Her oncologist said she did PHENOMENAL.
OUR JOURNEY BEGINS HERE...... ****************************
Yesterday is history Tomorrow is a mystery Today is a gift...that is why we call it the present.

Sunday, May 27, 2012 10:28 PM EST WOW! It is amazing how time flies. I can't believe it has been 3 years since we last updated Mom's page. I am thrilled to report that Mom is alive and well. We are so blessed and truely understand she is a miracle. She continues to visit Duke once a year to have a MRI. Last October they told us if all was well this year she would go to visits every 2 year. The picture on the front was taking Easter Sunday 2012. Thank you for all your love, support and prayers.
